The sun doesn't always shine on the same dog's ass every year, so I predict Georgia State goes 7-4 this year.

Do you not remember last year? It was after the ULM game when Fran decided we needed to REFUSE to pass?

I think we attempted like 5 passes that entire game. It was in San Marcos, too.

I remember feeling bad for Georgia State fans because that was a very winnable game for them. But then I looked at them over the course of the season, and many of them were winnable, they just couldn't get over the hump.

Of course I remember the game last year, which is why I didn't realize this upcoming meeting between GSU and TXST would be the first as stated in the blog. Because the first already happened.

If that makes sense. Lol 04-cheers

GSU Tough Match-ups
Georgia State will ruin a few team's weekends this season. If they can build on the improvements they made last season I think they can be a competitive team other than in a handful of games.

An 0-12 team didn't make any improvements. Literally not possible.

You dont think they made an improvements? they have a whole recruiting class and not to mention whatever redshirts.

This will not be the same team they had last season.

Much like Monken's second year at GS, we were much improved. If miles is at least a mediocre coach they will easily have 3 wins this year.

GaSt's success is largely dependent on the new JUCO QB Arbuckle. If he is good, then GaSt will win some games.

Was Ronnie Bell that bad? I remember him preforming pretty well against TXST, but that's the only game I saw GSU play.

He was definitely inconsistent. Plus Albert Wilson got him out of a lot of trouble.

He was seriously coached up by Luke Huard (QBs) and Jef Jagodzinski (OC) but I think ability wise Bell is at or near his ceiling ability wise. Nick (Arbickle) brings a whole new dynamic that has been missing since Drew Little and Freshman Emiere Scaife may be better than them all.

Shows you didn't pay attention. Put the bottle down from time to time and things should be easier for you to follow.

He was very average, made as many bad plays as good and seemingly was unwilling to run when it was clear that that there were several yards open ahead of him.

RE: GSU Tough Match-ups
The fanbase is split on Ronnie Bell. Personally, I'm split too. We went 0-12, any change is welcomed for me.lol

But, many games Bell didn't have a chance. I remember countless times where Bell would do his 3 step drop and literally 1 second later a defender was in his face. He didn't have a chance. He put up numbers, a lot of that was because we were behind, but it shows he is a capable passer.

I hope for our sake that Arbuckle is the guy who will win because I think he is a helluva leader. But, I just want wins. If we win 5 games this year, I'd probably crap my pants and eat it.

Not sure whether to root for Georgia State to have 5 wins so we could see the video of that, or just say how disgusting that sounds.

Re: RE:
He simply does not have the skills and touch needed. It's not a coincidence that he ended up at GSU after plummeting down Ohio's depth chart. There was a complete lack of touch on medium routes. His 50% completion rate cannot totally be blamed on the OL. We have to remember that we are still dealing with a lot of players that were bought into an FCS program.

I think that was just eagleskins' way of saying, 'Well duh, they better be better.' I pretty much feel the same way.

With that said, there's a BIG range of how much better we could be. We've been waiting for a mini-savior at QB for a while now (the fact that Panama referenced Drew Little as what we need to return to should give an idea of the frustration we've faced). We also have a full year with no Donald Russell and no Albert Wilson. That's honestly a bit scary for me, as a lot of my yelling last year came down to 'Just give the ball to AW on every #&$%ing play...!!!'
