Who Were You Impressed With During Media Day
Obviously this SB media day was a big learning experience for me and I tried to absorb as much info as possible. IMO, all the players and coaches did a nice job, but the coaches who really impressed me were Todd Berry, Trent Miles and Joey Jones. I'd be curious to see what the rest of you guys think.

Coach Miles appears to be a real likeable and realistic guy.

I try to schedule all my Dr. Appointnents during meaningless dog and pony show meetings. I can appreciate Blakeney doing the same.

Scott Farmer and Mark Hudspeth for appreciating what was really meant when the Arkansas reporters asked if they would go back to New Orleans this year.

Scott Satterfield for finally teaching our Administration how to pronounce Appalachian.

The one coach that stood out to me (and not in a good way) was Fritz.

He seemed (from what I watched, and it was not all of his interview) to focus too much on his time at Sam Houston instead of the history that Georgia Southern had.

He also noted he had no experience with members of the Sun Belt, when he played us once.

He didn't come off "bad" per se, but he (in my view) was the weakest of the lot, and I really expected him to put on a show.

I thought it was funny when he corrected the ESPN dude on the number of National Championships that Georgia Southern has won. He's obviously had it told to him many times since he's been there!

Another vote for Coach Miles. I think State has the right guy for their program and hope it works out.

I didn't watch much of it, but for the little I did see I liked Berry and Miles. Jones too of course. Actually, I haven't seen any bad interviews by SBC coaches.

I heard that too, and yes... laughed audibly in the office when that happened.

RE: Who Were You Impressed With During Media Day
No doubt Fritz has been told many, many times that we have 6 NCs at the FCS level. That is probably quickly followed by a Ga. Southern fan saying that he expects Fritz to win. Fritz may have a pass for this year but the Ga. Southern fanbase expects to win in FBS. At a minimum that means getting enough wins each year to be bowl eligible.

Louisiana Lafayette Head Coach Mark Hudspeth.
Thought he didn't just give coach speak but put his
well thought out ideas into answers well.

What stAte guys really wanted to know from Farmer was this: Are the Cajuns going to continue to hog the New Orleans Bowl?

His response was that the Cajuns will look for best bowl match-up first, but if they don't find one good enough they have no problem playing in front of all their fans in New Orleans every year.
