RE: UC FB news:
It was ridiculous that the league did not work it out so UC had a conference game in one of the first two weeks. Just awful stuff on their part.

Also still pissed this is the second year UC won't play UCF. Just doesn't make sense.

Tuberville said #UC may make its 2015 Nippert opener a conference game, opponent TBA (per radio interview with @MoEgger1530)

Also reemphasized how the past admin screwed up the 2014 schedule and that he's "kinda pissed off at the conference" that they didnt move a conference game up to the first weeks for them . They could have but chose not to per tuberville

Touched on future scheduling how hard it is to get home and home with us but working on several games the said fans will be surprised who we get and it will be great for the program .

People over on the main conference board understandably get mad when UC fans say that they don't want to be in this conference, but I still have yet to see where the AAC has done anything positive for UC.

Oh well.

Jerry your post is so off topic. You like to stir it up over on that board. AAC is by far the best G5 conference for football and bball. UC won the conference in BBall and the level of play was very good in the conference. The competition in football is good enough that if we go 10-2, 11-1 we get an access bowl. The conference on purpose has not scheduled UC and UCF, because they us to have the best Won Loss records as possible. It is too bad that we did not get a conference game early.

You don't like the AAC then wave your magic wand and get somewhere else. In the interim I am going be glad that we have some real pros running the football program.

The only thing I can think of is they think it might increase the possibility/likelihood of one or the other (and thus the conference) getting the G5 bid or even possibly into the 4 team playoffs. But it's a double-edged sword and probably just as likely to cost us imo - depending upon how things play out of course.

And Toledo made no effort to move their opening rinky dink game and play us
the first week. They were very difficult to deal with. People moaned about opening at Rutgers in 2009, who was the league darling at the time, and thought the Big East screwed us and then we blew them out.

AAC is trying to get 1 or 2 teams as close to the access bowl as possible.

I remember that. I was the opposite. Thought it was the perfect time to play Rutgers. UC was coming of a conference title with tons of experience coming back. Rutgers was talented but a team that was more likely to peak late. Worked out great. That was an amazing game to attend (despite some Rutgers guys apparently wanting to kick my ass the night before the game).

Me too. Have the game and drum up some excitement for the league. If it causes the league to not get an Access Bowl so be it. Maybe the league would noot deserve it. It is not like we even have a conference championship game.

Agree. This is what happens when you have a well established, experienced and successful head coach that spent 14 years in the SEC and 3 in the B12. Just wait until Coach T has a few more years to continue taking steps to help build the UC football brand...

You would rather play UCF as opposed to playing in an access bowl? Surely you kid.

No, they are not mutually exclusive. We can play UCF and still be in an ACCEss bowl. There is no guarantee that we get an Access bowl if we go undefeated in the conference without UCF on the schedule. According to Vegas, there is a very strong likelihood that we lose to OSU and Miami. This will more than likely eliminate an Access Bowl Bid

So the question is do I want another good home game on the schedule, even if there is a possibility that the stars could line up and cost us the bowl or do I want a stronger opportunity to go undefeated in the league by sandbagging and not playing the best which could possibly lead to the Access Bowl. I want the sure fire good home game.

So you didn't answer the question? If UC goes undefeated of course they are a lock for an access bowl.
Again the question is:
1) Play UCF
2) Play in an access bowl

The point is that is not an either or scenario. obviously everyone would rather play in the access bowl but not playing ucf is not necessarily beneficial towards that end. I want to play ucf AND play in the access bowl

If I could foresee on this day that UC would go undefeated and play UCF in the last game to determine the Access Bowl, would I schedule the game with UCF. Of course I would not, however, each game is an independent event and the odds that happening are astronomically low. The odds are also astronomically low that a team will go undefeated in the aAc this year.

In addition, a game with UCF may help our cause. There is also a chance that UC may need another strong win in order to get the Access. Marshall goes undefeated and we sit with two losses and few quality wins. I say play the game.
