I'm on travel and thus subjected to morning "news" at the hotel. Once again the US media (and gov't quite frankly) is spending an inordinate time on a story that's of little interest to the US, while ignoring the truly important issues.

While I agree they ignore the truly important issues in favor of fluff I think these types of events on the international stage have at least a minimum level of impact on us so should be covered. However, I'm not sure how many times I can watch Wolf Blitzer tell us to standby for breaking news and there really is none, but instead just a rehashing of the previous 6 minute segment.

This has become standard operating procedure for any CNN coverage of any airplane crash.
