Not at all how I am seeing this...

Marketing to the 60k locals is not a bad thing. Its not like the game is on TV so it will not hurt our perception to the non-diehards/non-alums one bit. Presby is also not an opponent that will be drawing in new fans to Huskie Stadium from Chicago metro. Going local is a smart move.

Hey NIU Marketing guys. The university and athletics both appear as sponsors, but can we get a mention of the football game on the corn fest home page or maybe a link to game information?

Agree...the game should be the kickoff for the fest. How great would the free ear of corn thing be in the Yard.

Really should try to make it an annual thing, ie the Cotton Bowl during the Texas State fair.

It would be great and delicious.

Hopefully the corn cobs will not be flying as they did many years ago.

That would be fantastic...next year we open week 1 at home vs UNLV.

Next year I want to see some barbed wire/John Deere or CAT jerseys! Go all NASCAR (actually not sure if I am serious or not)

Coach Carey talks about Corn Fest

Sounds very nice. I still think the Corn Fest website needs to promote the game, uniforms, auction and the partnership between the university and the event.

One of the craziest nights at Huskie Stadium ever. I will never forget the sight of those corn cobs flying back and forth through the air.

That would require moving of the corn feet or whatever each year. The OU texas game is always the same weekend each year. The state fair runs from the last week of September until the 3rd week of October.

But that would be a good idea to have some cool event around the NIU home opener each year.

My guess is they will be similar to the "Hero" jerseys from last year, with corn artwork on the shoulders instead of the Stars and Stripes.
