Well that's disappointing. It seemed like his friends were all coming here, Hallmon, Senior, etc. Wonder what made him change his mind?

Also, wasn't there another guy from Florida we were still waiting to hear from on signing day and didn't? Can't remember who that was, any update on that individual?

The guy was a NIU commit on signing day, tweeting that he was coming here...however, we didn't let him sign, talk was he was going to have to qualify or become a grey shirt. He's a 2014 recruit.

It's not an excuse at all...it's just a possible reason. Our coaching staff made a point of saying there weren't any other signees.

Sure...it's "possible" he didn't sign on signing day while taking another 4 months to make his decision? Nothing to do with his academic status?

I'm not sure what would make anyone think that WASN'T the case haha. Rawls has been saying since signing day he was coming to NIU, but NIU didn't have anything on him because of grades. Now he shows up at Marshall. Logic would tell you it was grades.

I heard the whole Rawls issue has something to do with an assistants coaches wife...

I'm pretty sure NIU and marshall are close academically, but considering it's been stated that he didn't qualify academically, if he enrolled elsewhere it would be because of very few things.
A. He now qualified and NIU said hey no room
B. he now qualified and decided on marshall over NIU
C. He was accepted at marshall but not NIU

Either way, good luck to the kid. Go troll the Toledo board.
