Another SMU Recruit De-Commits
Some more bad news on the recruiting front for SMU (and indirectly the AAC). A 4 star 2015 basketball recruit de-committed from SMU

Got a log jam at that position so he won't see time as a freshman

Yep, with Emelogu transferring in we are set at SG for a few years. McQuaid may have been good enough to get time as a frosh, but he is ultimately a "nice to have" rather than a need.

Different story if Barefield decommits

That's my view of it too... SMU will be fine.

Depth is always nice to have.

A relevant SMU is fun to have around especially if we sweep you this year.

With the loss of Louisville the AAC as a whole will struggle for basketball relevancy. I hope Larry Brown sticks around for awhile.

For some reason, I think if the season goes south this year, with all of the recruiting disappointment... Brown might turn off the lights... (How long is his contract btw?)

RE: Another SMU Recruit De-Commits
I took the time to research each teams losses and additions last week and SMU still looks like the hands down favorite to me. They returned the most of any AAC team last year and added significant transfers that were already proven at places like Texas Tech and Xavier. Their 6-11 center was hurt a lot of last year as well.

And Emelogu may be eligible this year. They are appealing for a waiver as he transferred to SMU due to his grandmother being ill

Sounds like SMU will be just fine. When you bring in a lot of talented players, you can afford to lose a player or 2.

The AAC just needs a couple of teams to make waves nationally, more to make waves regionally, and the rest to not get embarrassed.
