let me just leave you guys with this:
“The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.” -Walter Bagehot
“The more man meditates upon good thoughts, the better will be his world and the world at large.”
- Confucius
"All I'm trying to do is survive and make good out of the dirty, nasty, unbelievable lifestyle that they gave me....My whole goal is to make them ashamed for writing me off." - Tupac Shakur
“If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it.” – Anonymous
“New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.”
- John Locke
“Whatever you do you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there will always be someone to tell you that you are wrong.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Those not chasing their dreams should stay out of the way of those who are.”
- Tim Fargo
Imagine if everyone who was told it was impossible to do something just quit trying. How could anyone ever achieve greatness if there weren't great obstacles to overcome? A lot of people have told me that I can't do certain things and it just makes me try harder.
ECU and it's supporters won't take no for an answer and the more people that say you can't, the harder we'll come. To us it's not so obvious that we don't belong and we think that those that tell us we don't belong probably either are afraid, have a vested interest in keeping us down, are negative people, or just simply lack vision.
We were once in a conference with VT & WVU (So Con) & Louisville & TCU (C-USA)
In the mid 60s we used to compete against WVU for conference championships. History can sometimes repeat itself.
ECU has the same potential as WVU & VT and I believe that many people will be shocked at how ECU flourishes with just the slight advantages that the AAC will provide compared to C-USA. No one thought that WVU could join the Big 12 until recently and now they're in. We just have to keep plugging away in the face of doubt and see how everything plays out! No other candidate has the support and the the determination that ECU does.
The misguided paradigms that destroyed the big east should only further illuminate how good of a candidate ECU is but yet people still regurgitate that same old..."You guys were one of the last to get picked so how are you gonna be one of the 1st called up to the P5 BS." Just watch, learn, and take notes.
RE: Since the last thread about ECU & it's P5 quest got shut down...
I don't think too many serious minded folks look down at ECU as an athletics program especially when it comes to football. I had long advocated for ECU to the Big East on forums like these. ECU provided quality football with a sizable fanbase in a state that fit in nicely with the Big East's then existing footprint. They had a long standing rivalry of sorts with WVU, they had been in a conference with Louisville, Cincy and USF before and I think would have had an interesting matchup with Rutgers given the sizable contingent of New Jerseyans in North Carolina and the fact that NJ is one of the larger providers of out-of-state students at ECU. Unfortunately the Big East brass thought otherwise and things have since developed the way they have.

Dang ecu fans, you guys finally turned the corner on being obnoxious fans and before you have played one game in the American you're already campaigning for the big12. How bout just enjoying the ride for a while? If this conference gets poached there is little to no chance that ecu is the one called up. So relax and build your total athletic program in the mean time. Being a dbag doesn't have to be a requirement to be an ecu fan does it

So the multitudes of these threads by UCF/Cincy/UConn fans are okay, but we can't make one. Got it.

You can't fix stupid- ron white
hahaha. My take is ECU clearly has no chance for the pac 12 or big 10 ever. The only chance for the acc would be if the acc got raided and it really isn't the ACC. I can't really see ECU being a viable pick for a big 12 that hasn't got raided either. I don't see texas and OU sticking around if the big 12 really expanded past 12 with non p 5 pickups. I could see them jump to 12 but i don't think ecu has a chance to be in 2 team big 12 pickup of non p 5 school's. Of course, you still got the best option on the table, the sec. I see some rationale for the sec to take ECU but for the chips to fall that way some crazy things would need to happen…probably the big 10 getting really big with unc, duke, uva and v tech. Than maybe the sec would double up with nc state and ecu.

All those threads come across as pathetic and desperate. Is that what you're shooting for? Let your game do the talking.

The Big12 certainly isn't what it used to be, but that doesn't make it easier for ECU. The Big12 is Texas and Oklahoma. They don't care about getting back to 12 teams. They want as much money as they can get, and a scheduling alliance that gets them into the BCS playoffs. Right now, they believe they have that. Even if ECU wins the AAC ten straight years, the Big12 still won't want you. ECU would cost them money and not improve their chances of earning a spot in the playoff. Houston is a perfect fit for the Big12, and their fans understand they'll never get in.
If ECU is trying to get out of the AAC already, that doesn't speak well for the AAC's stability. The truth is, there is no P5 conference out there for ECU. If UConn can't get into a P5, how can ECU?
