Is California dreaming of a 6-way split-up?
The mind-boggling idea of splitting up California into a half dozen competing empires is now more than just fantasy - it's real politics.

Tim Draper, a wealthy Silicon Valley venture capitalist, already has spent $5.2 million pushing the plan and says he's got the signatures to put it before California voters in November 2016. Saying Sacramento has gone "rusty," Draper offers a sunny scenario of prosperity, more responsive local governments, and more local control to deliver jobs, education and services in his six dream states.

No. It will probably fail at the polls as people will see if for what it is...an attempt to gerrymander the presidential vote. Even if it passed, the CA legislature would never approve it. And even if the CA legislature did, the US congress wouldn't.

And even if it did happen, all this would do would set off any number of refereda to split off areas from split off areas. San Diego City would never submit to control by East County conservatism. Orange County would split off from that too.

California has been talking about doing this for a while now. The state is just too large and fragmented to manage at this point.

Case in point: as issues like illegal immigration and societal breakdowns like Detroit and Chicago continue, the rest of the country will begin to resemble California. It will indeed eventually happen in California. Then it will happen in the rest of the country.

California is a microcosm to our eventual fate.

It will not happen in California. Even if a county "voted" to secede, they would not win the approval needed from the state legislature to do so. If they tried to enforce it (somehow...?) they would be met with state guard / National Guard troops.

Just give the Californians to Mexico. La Raza would approve.

If CA, the state, were to decide, would each new state get 2 new elected US senators?

They should form their own country and then we (the U.S.) can build a fence to keep them out. I'm sure a lot of states would chip in just to keep them out.

This is actually the 6th time that legislators have attempted to make this a reality. Chances are it's eventually going to happen.

They should split into three states. Jefferson, and North & South.

And. What would the difference be. They're all Californians with similar mind-sets.

In the south you have los angeles with their liberal Unholywood types.
In the central you have san francisco and san jose with your gay, liberal nut jobs.

In the north you have those with oregon type mind sets that aren't any different from the other two.

It just goes to prove that they're all nuts.
