No --- Paying and giving benefits due (by some method) to players isn't the wrong thing. It's the RIGHT thing. *BUT* this does need to get worked out within the context of being a college player and not being an "employee" -- IMO.

We could draw and quarter Calipari and sell off his body parts to Kentucky fans. That would make just about everyone happy and generate enough money to pay the players.

Wouldn't make ESPN happy unless they got a 'cut' -- of the proceeds.

Feminist groups are lined up with lawsuits on the ready if schools ever start paying players.

If you pay male athletes, you'll have to pay female athletes. And don't think it can be based on whether or not a particular sport brings in revenue or profit.

a salary cap is the only way to go.

let them work, at any job, including the job of signing autographs or bar-tending etc just limit their income to $30,000 per year. have them submit their tax returns to the ncaa if they accept a scholarship.

Benefits like medical yes.

Money No.

College sports are NOT pro. They are being paid with room and board and an education. At most give them a stipend monthly based on Cost of living that is monitored by the NCAA.

Maybe its time for the NCAA and everyone else out of the big five to just let them go. Let them become the NFL minor league and everyone else actually goes back to playing with real students.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just pay hookers to visit the A dorms.
