Maybe the staff is playing to the opposing teams' confusion:

"How are we supposed to gameplan against them when they don't even know what they're doing??"

That's what Urban Meyer and others have been running out of Shotgun and-or Pistol for years.

What do you think "Zone-Read" and "Inverted Veer" is, smart guy?

Even some NFL teams have been doing it.

I know what it is. I was being facetious. 03-troll

I prefer to pump but I'll stuff it if it comes down to that.

Back on topic again...

According to the "assembly line", Bolden instantly makes the fighting emu's a MAC West contender and they are expecting at least 10,000 fans at their opener. 03-lmfao

When was the last time EMU pulled 10K to a home game?

I like the fact that their fans are excited about their team. That is what college sports is about.

I also hope that Eastern does well with the exception of their play against Western.

I never will understand why so much time and effort is made in trashing other schools.

Trashing other schools is the essence of college football. Started right in your backyard with Harvard and Yale.

Well, I'll bet Army pulled in 8.5K of the 10K. Still pathetic when 10K is your high water mark. Even DII GVSU averages over 10K a game.

Dear Broncobelt,
Army only had about two or three hundred at that game. If Western has the kind of season this year, as you had last year, you will be lucky to have 2,000 in attendance by the end of the year. Fans, alums, students, are fickle. You lose and people go and do other things.

You missed my point, Ken. The Army name/brand brought in considerable more than just the military attendance per se. People came for the opportunity to see an Army football game.

We could have several consecutive 1-11 seasons (please god no) and still easily outdraw EMU's season attendance total in one game alone. And I don't even think that's an exaggeration. CommUniverCity would still probably draw at least 10,000 - 15,000 and when CMU comes to town, we'd see something similar.

I'm glad Boldin is here and welcome more competition at QB. That doesn't EMU's greatest weakness which is defense. I don't see an impact newcomer that would turn that around. We are switching to a 3-4 on defense, may be more unpredictable on offense. By yes we have the same offensive line, WRs, TE, RBs from last years 2-9 team (thank you WMU and Howard), the good news is there is experience. I don't think Ron English actually coached, he scowled and yelled a lot and thought that was coaching. Throw in the death of a teammate and you have a lost season. I think CC will improve EMU football in the long term (2-3 years). I don't think we'll make .500 this year, maybe win 1 or 2 more games. Boldin helps the depth chart, anything more he'll have to earn. He'll make EMU a better team, but Boldin alone will not take EMU from a losing football team to a winning team. He plays on the wrong side of the ball for that.
