Got it.

NMSU will also remain undefeated against Notre Dame.

I still cast a wary eye in your direction. Boston College is reason enough for everyone to not take you too lightly.

He was referring to them not playing us this year, thus not getting a win. No need for "embarrassment" 07-coffee3

I don't mind touting their potential as FBS programs, but neither AppSt of GaSo are very good this year. Any SBC team with the possible exception of GaSt who loses to them should be embarrassed.

Good to know you think NMSU or Idaho are capable of going into the Swamp and beating Florida. Lol

I recall watching Troy beat Mizzou on ESPN.

After the game, with pandemonium on the sideline, they interviewed Blakeney and I remember him responding that his toughest job would be getting his team refocused and on the bus to New Mexico.

Trap game, no doubt.

Then I thought the Aggies were on to something after beating Troy, only to see them struggle the rest of that season.

Troy beat #17 Missouri in 2004. They lost to NMSU the following week. I'd say they are more than capable of beating GS. What you did at the swamp is in no way a barometer on how well you'll do in SBC play.

ULM beat #8 Arkansas recently, and then Alabama a few years back and never even sniffed a SBC title. The year they beat Alabama, Troy beat them 31-7 and kneeled the ball at goal line. Otherwise it's 38-7. What you do vs P5 means nothing in SBC play because P5 games vs G5 are by nature squirlly. You never know what P5 you're going to get.

You got UF's D game. You'll get every SBC team's A game. Considering most of the guys who ran vs UF are no longer on the roster, you have a new head coach, and a new OC, I'd say the team that went into the swamp is not even close to the same team that will take snaps vs NMSU and the SBC.

He said NMSU should be embarrassed to lose to Ga Southern. Based on recent performance, I disagree they should be embarrassed as they will likely be underdogs.

Maybe he meant they should be embarrassed at the current state of their football program. Not sure.

A little of both.

But it is a fact the SBC will not be seeing either GaSo or AppSt at their best this go-around. Both are off their game, and GaSo especially may be a victim of bad timing.

Am sure it breaks your heart, but soon the Sun Belt will see both teams at their best. Maybe not this year, but soon.

I think the SBC getting both GaSo and AppSt is one of the biggest gets for any G5 Conference in football.

When it comes to just football I would not trade AppSt and GaSo for any three, and maybe four if the F_Us had to be included, of the departed schools, and football is all I focus on.

I don't think you are going to be good, I think you are going to be outstanding FBS teams, but probably just not this year.

Just to be clear: When we beat Arkansas in 2012 we were one game out of first in the Sun Belt so I would definitely call that "sniffing" an SBC title (seems your definition of sniffing a title actually means winning it, I guess). Kolton Browning didn't even play in the loss to Arkansas State...we'll never know if that would have made a difference.

In 2007 when we beat Alabama the ULM-Troy game score was 24-7, not 31-7 (halftime score was 7-0, Troy) and it was played six weeks before the Alabama game. ULM drove inside the Troy 20 three times but failed to score, one time giving up the ball on downs at Troy's one-yard line. After that Troy loss the Warhawks won six of their next eight games and we were 4-3 in the Sun Belt. Apparently we got better after that Troy loss, so thanks for the incentive!
