Yeah this isn't ideal. If anyone comes up with a better plan I'd love to hear it. We were hoping to have a solid tailgate crowd for this one...if not we'll have to bar it

Right next to Mustard's Last Stand(some hot dog stand).

Lots open 3hrs before game
Also can get 2 free Goose Island Beers if you go to Wildcat Alley(main tailgating area for families) before the game

Thanks for the info. Google Earth it... looks like it holds about 20 cars.

Parking at NU for football sucks as much as parking at Wrigley

So you'll have to walk a little bit from the Free Lots on campus to a Free Shuttle bus that will take you to the game. Grow a pair will ya and stop you bitchin.

Any parking near Wrigley will cost you at least $20 and there is no free beer. Free Beer before the game in Wildcat Alley!

Those aren't in waking distance of the field.. evanston is 2-3 miles from the field.. That is a 45 minute walk easy. That is why I said no bars near the field

RE: Northwestern Away Game Parking
Wildcat Alley used to provide complimentary pre-game beverages, but that tradition has ended as of 2011. We can only hope that the tradition will be revived in the future, as it is much needed. There is only one bar within a short walk of the stadium, and even that one would not be open before 11:00 AM.
Wildcat Alley is a family-friendly place, and several games and activities for kids can be found there. For a list of activities, pictures, and a video, click here. The marching band plays a concert in Wildcat Alley approximately one hour before kickoff.

Ryan Field is a 20 to 30 minute walk from Northwestern University's lakeside campus in Evanston.

Downtown Evanston is about 30 minutes away by foot (or three stops on the CTA Purple Line) and full of great places to eat and drink. It's well worth planning to spend the evening there.

The closest bar/restaurant is Bluestone (1932 Central St.), which is nice but not really sports-oriented (and gets crowded quickly).

RE: Northwestern Away Game Parking
If you arrive early, you may be able to find parking on the streets around the stadium, but traps abound - keep a very close eye out for signs with parking restrictions. There are some small pay lots near the intersection of Central & Green Bay Road (usually $20) and pay garages in downtown Evanston with free shuttles to the stadium; the one at Clark & Maple, near the Century Theaters, is probably the biggest and easiest to find.

Alternately, there are free lots on campus, primarily along Sheridan Road, southeast of the stadium. Tailgating is welcome in the campus lots, and there are free shuttles. If you're walking from one of the remote lots, you'll see students offering pedicab rides. Make sure to agree on a price before you get in - figure about $5 from the CTA station or $10 from one of the closer campus lots.

If it's the one to the south at a church(south 1 block, 1 block west), they do not allow open flame grills there, at least last 2 times I was there. After a little persuasion, 2nd time, I convinced them my Thermos grill with solid cooking grates was not open flame.

Is a nice lot though.

I still read it as 4 & 5 are Donor/Season Ticket only parking.

Shuttle buses are available not just on campus but in several off campus locations on game day. Always one across the street from the BK at 1740 N Orrington.

I am not so sure if the course will be open for parking since the NIU Alum association has it reserved for their pregame event.

Isn't that this lot?...

Can someone scout this area? If 108 really is still a parking lot then that is THE best lot.
