Bias is easily the second best basketball player in ACC history. Other than David Thompson, no other single person could so take over a game and take over essentially playing at all positions and do it all - score, shoot, pass, play defense, rebound. I was in Chapel Hill the night he made UNC look stupid and inept his senior year. Shock doesn't begin to describe the news of his death. Then Maryland formed a circular firing squad from which they have never fully recovered.

RE: University of Maryland to induct Len Bias into Athletics Hall of Fame
I was in the Smith Center on Feb. 20, 1986 and Bias was fabulous, but what I remember most about the game was that if Kenny Smith had hit his free throw attempts at the end of the game, Carolina wins in regulation. He didn't, Maryland wins in overtime, and Carolina suffers it's first defeat in the Dean Dome.
Four months later Bias was dead, and Maryland athletics haven't been the same since.

Jordan ate Bias up when they went head to head. See the rock the cradle dunk he debuted in Cole field house in 84 (I think).
