The Obama administration has awarded a $50 million contract to a charitable group to buy a Texas resort hotel and transform it in to a 600 bed facility for juvenile illegal aliens.

The beautiful Palm Aire resort and hotel has an indoor Olympic sized pool and an outdoor pool. Free Wi-Fi and cable TV are included in the simply decorated guest rooms.

The Palm Aire Hotel and Suites is set to be sold to Baptist Child & Family Services (BCFS) operating under a federal contract, pending local government approval, according to reports from Weslaco, Texas where the hotel is located. Weslaco is a few miles north of the Rio Grande in Hidalgo County.

What a hell hole. That will stem the tide.

The poor American citizens are gonna love that.

Another 50 million dollars that we won't get back as US tax payers.

But the group is employing 650 people, to take care of the 600 kids,
at up to $45.00 per hour. Wonder how many kids will drown in all
those indoor and outdoor pools. Smart Obama. Smart. How many
millions do we pay their parents then.

If Google Maps is any indication the place in question is a Best Western. (or used to be a Best Western)

This is what happens when republicans refuse to allocate funds to build detention facilities.

Back when the Rio Grande was a nice place to visit, I bet that hotel flourished. Thanks to the illegals, they've scared everyone away.

If they had used that money to build more detention facilities, we wouldn't have the problem we have now.

That's how I feel about New Orleans but there are still millions of people who love it there.

I agree with you about New Orleans. However, it is geographically important because it is at the mouth of the Miss. River.

The Rio Grand no longer even has water in it most of the year.

WESLACO - A center for unaccompanied minors set to open in Weslaco later this year will be the first of its kind in the nation, officials with a network of non-profits said.

BCFS Health and Human Services secured a multi-million federal contract to house young illegal immigrants at the site of the current Palm Aire Hotel and Suites on FM 1015.

Representatives with BCFS said the Palm Aire will undergo a multi-million dollar transformation.

BCFS runs a temporary detention center for young illegal immigrants at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
