Reports: Rob Bolden to transfer to E. Michigan

Posted by John Taylor on July 15, 2014, 10:52 PM EDT
LSU v TCU
From the looks of it, Rob Bolden is heading back to Big Ten country, albeit in an entirely different conference.

Monday it was reported that Bolden was transferring from LSU. Not only that, but it was reported that he narrowed down his landing spots to a pair of directional Michigan MAC schools. Now, the quarterback-turned-wide receiver has reportedly narrowed that list even further.

Both Hondo Carpenter of SpartanNation.com and Bryan Lazare of TigerBait.com tweeted that Bolden has decided to transfer to Eastern Michigan. No official announcement of Bolden’s addition has been made by EMU, although Carpenter wrote “Bolden will be announced when class at LSU done.”

Bolden’s other choice was reportedly Central Michigan.

If he has received his degree, Bolden, a senior, would be eligible to play for the Eagles immediately in 2014.

In early August of 2012, Bolden officially left Penn State after two seasons and ultimately ended up at LSU. He didn’t play a single down for the Bayou Bengals during his two seasons there, and was moved to receiver during spring practice this year.

Bolden is expected to move back to quarterback for his final collegiate season.

RE: TRANSFER TO EMU
Would you want a guy to join your program for four months and immediately become the starting QB? What does that say to the other guys who have committed to your program for 4 or 5 years?
