RE: Arena Football league question
The CFL has 3 spots for QBs plus practice squad plus the 20 on the game day roster. Cap is around $5 million this year, with the minimums being around $50,000. You must start 9 Canadians, I believe. So, offensive linemen, safeties, fullbacks, slot receivers, inside linebackers and defensive tackles tend to be Canadians. Skill position players, rush ends, and qbs tend to be Americans. Given the larger field and presnap motion, small fast receivers are not unusual. So, FCS guys who are too small for the NFL, tend to thrive in the CFL. Weston Dressler was a huge star for the Roughriders, just sign with KC. He was a FCS product. Given his diminutive stature, he has to be a long shot for the NFL despite having great speed and fantastic hands. Maybe he latches on as a kick returner.

In the the Reorganized AFL, the pay is significantly lower, $830 for veterans, $775 for rookies. So, you are talking about 1/3 the money of the CFL. You can make at much money working an entry level job after college.

RE: Arena Football league question
It all depends on the person. If you're ooking for money then the AFL is certainly not the first place to go. I played at the FCS level and spent three seasons in the CFL and one year in the UFL. I never really considered Arena football at all for personal reasons. I have a few friends that are playing in the AFL right now and they love it. I simply reached that point where I needed to settle in one place. I could no longer bounce between Vancouver, Orlando and everywhere else in between.

Ok you don't have to be that mean....

Oh, I'm not trying to be mean at all. I'm just being playful. AFL viewership is like a bit like huffing glue though. 03-wink

The thing is... American Football is a huge hit among the kids in Europe and South America but once they get past the youth stage, they're all pushed back toward futbal by their coaches.
