Bc it's schools like Latech that's making these 2 conferences look bad!
The WAC, MAC, and CUSA have ranked teams practically every year, and La Tech has had one of those teams on more than one occasion. The Sun Belt has NEVER, EVER had a single team break into the Top 25, yet you have the nerve to come on the CUSA board and attack La Tech? Maybe you'll seem more credible if a team from the Sun Belt ever breaks into the Top 25 for the very first time. That's going to be even tougher to do now that the Sun Belt has lost what most considered to be it's premier institutions. Anyway, you obviously carry a grudge against La Tech as is evidenced by your screen name. Are you related to Eager Eagle?
Uh, I thought he was just pulling your leg there BR. Otherwise, there's no logic at all to what he said.
On another topic, which premier institutions did the Belt lose?
And finally, speaking of LaTech, I was dumbfounded when I learned that Tech had never sold out its stadium, even during the 2012 season when late in the year you guys played at home ranked #19 in the nation. What's up with that?
LaTech has an unusual situation in which they've used Indepedendence stadium for over 70 home games over the years for some of their bigger games which partially explains why they haven't sold out their home stadium. How many teams have that option? I'll let LaTech fans fill in more if they have the info.
As to which premiere teams left the Sun Belt for C-USA? I'll let others provide input there.
La Tech has played 11 regular season games in Shreveport since 1995, almost 20yrs. These have ranged from the likes of Grambling up to those with Texas a&m. The only BCS visitor to Dogpatch in the modern era, past 30yr, would be the Miss State game some 4yr ago. Total gate receipts was just over $263,000 or at an average $30. ticket price a paid attendance of about 9,000 or less. Ms State sold about 1500 of those so looks like Tech has a paying crowd of 7500 and that could be the reason why their stadium has never been full.

There's a good shot of 10,000 or more on the East side alone at the 3:28 mark of this video. At the 7:06 mark you can see another 10,000 or so on the West side:

That would be interesting since we play them first game of 2015.
I have a sneaking suspicion that our football matchups with them will be the same as basketball....they can't beat us.

We're opening with UK in 2015. Ga State is either getting bumped to a new date or off the schedule completely.

Please read my post again. I never mentioned anything other than PAID attendance and PAID attendance is one factor determining whether or not you can afford to bring in a high level team. The reported ticket revenue, audited by the legislative auditor, showed a net of just over $263,000 or about 9,000 paid. Slice that any way you like. That was the largest gate ever, Tech usually averages about $150,000 in ticket sales per home game thus explaining why their out of conference foes at home are the likes of Central Ark & others who will come in for just a nominal guarantee. You said the crowd was at about 20,000 but that is far short of the 30,000 capacity.

There is no sport where Charlotte scares me.
And in two years when your transfers are gone you'll simply go back to being a program with a high school quality gym and a few hundred people at the games.
Georgia State has some of the worst facilities and fan support in all of college sports.

I read your post. You said Tech's stadium has never been full because of the paid attendance reported. You seemed to be implying that paid attendance equals butts in the seats.
Okay, they really didn't say that about the Belt, but could have.
Like it or not that is the perception. Bottom line is pecking order is the same, but if you are a gang school, perception is you are lower and weaker than you were. and to be honest that is true, for all 5.

USA Today doesn't seem too high on MTSU, FAU, and WKU. I believe at least one or two of those teams will continue to win. To me, C-USA seems to have enough quality programs to finish ahead of the MAC. I think USA Today perceives C-USA to be weaker then it really is.
This conference just needs to win our OOC games. Nothing will do more to improve our perception like winning the non-conference games on our schedules.
