Silverberry on Lombardi Watch List
Quote:Chris Bains ‏@cinbinbains 1m
Cincinnati defensive end Silverberry Mouhon has been named to the 2014 Lombardi Award Watch List. #Bearcats

So we have three guys on watch lists this season. I really hope they show up in the big games, national attention could really benefit them.

RE: Silverberry on Lombardi Watch List
Congratulations to all three on a well deserved honor. Being on the list puts them in elite company. And the rising tide lifts the UC boat a little higher too. It's probably the best pre-season I can remember for watch lists, high (early) recruiting rankings and some encouraging post-season predictions from national media. Despite the conference setback, step by step, the UC football brand continues to grow. High visibility helps on all fronts.

Silverberry is poised to dominate this year, which will hopefully take some pressure off the interior linemen, who are a question mark right now. If he does well enough he could even come out early. That never happens to us.

Absolutely love this kid. Finished last year as a Sophomore with 9.5 sacks, 41 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for a loss, forced two fumbles and seven quarterback hurries. Agree the interior dee-line is a question mark but I think they will perform better than expected. Just a hunch...

With his brother here, i think he'll probably stick around unless he's being spoken about as a first round draft pick.

The other thing I will add is that player's often come out early to take care of their families. It is my understanding that the parents are both psychiatrists (Silverberry is named after Author/Juvenile Psychiatrist AR Silverberry). I don't think Silverberry will have to worry about taking care of his mom and dad anytime soon.
