Give me Pine Knoll Shores, NC any day of the week. If you're looking for a "Dick's Last Resort"... you've come to the wrong place.

Or Beaufort, NC...

No WVU fans here. Only ECU and the occasional NC State & UNC folks.

Fripp Island is another good spot for a laid back vacation.

There are amazing beaches in NC that are beautiful, aren't trashy, don't host biker weeks, and are closer. Hell, I bet there are even some great beaches in VA. Or, if you're heart is set on driving to SC, go to Charleston.

Myrtle isn't called "The Redneck Riviera" for nothing.

Actually, from this part of the country, the SC beaches are just as close or closer than the outer banks and VA Beach due to the way the coast pulls in westward. Myrtle is probably the top beach destination around here.

When I was young my family always went to Sunset Beach which is north of North Myrtle. Nice beaches and not crowded at all, very family friendly. They had a pier, arcade, icecream shop and a few souvineer shops and that's it other than beach houses. Great when I was a kid, a little borring as I reached teenage years but my brother and I would drive down to Myrtle looking for some fun.

I just left Myrtle Beach and there were Marshall fans everywhere. I probably only seen about 4 wvu families. A lot if locals had some very nice things to say to me about Marshall.

I'm partial to Emerald Isle myself. Still hate they don't have that beach music festival anymore though.

In WV that's what happens. A lot of ppl have Marshall and Who gear in their closet and wear the one that's winning. From 05-12 it was all Who gear all the time except the true hard core Marshall fans. Im starting to see more Marshall gear now on people even in the Kanawha Valley. And a lot on people just a few years ago that was wearing Who gear.

Hopefully we can keep the winning going and the Who stays on the slide.

Hilton Head, Emarald Isle, Duck and Corolla, NC - all are much better than MB and not that much more in expense if you know where to stay. MB just too crowded and to many people.

I've been to beaches in Hawaii, Nassau, Puerto Rico, Grand Caymans, Florida, Dominican Republic, Alabama, North Carolina, Jersey Shore, Mexico, Italy & Israel.

Each is unique. But I also enjoy Myrtle Beach.

And if the Big Boys truly want to separate themselves then USF, Cincy, UConn will stay exactly were they are and have topped out.

Im a Marshall fan and knew/know where Marshall stood and knew there was no way we would ever play with the bigger schools week in and week out. But there are some schools out there that have had delusions for years and thought they belonged even when the bigger schools laughed at them, they thought they were laughing with them.

Comparing UConn isn't exactly apples to apples. If UConn only played football, then you might be right. However, seeing as UConn has won 4 National Championships in basketball in the last 14 years, you are so far off base here it is frightening. UConn has solidified itself as a blue blood in basketball, so they aren't exactly a "minor league ball player" that was "sent back down". They have been the best basketball team of the last 20 years!!!! In football, they at least WENT to a BCS bowl game a few years ago.

If Marshall wins it all in basketball, then you have earned a right to discuss UConn. If Marshall grabs the access bowl slot this year and wins the game, then you have earned a right to discuss UConn. Until then, the reality is that the UConn athletic program is light years ahead of Marshall. Marshall will never ever ever ever ever be even slightly close to as successful as UConn has been in the last 20 years. Don't let your jealousy and hate blind you.

Just a slight at your fans from the original CUSA days. They would come up with some sort of excuse whenever Charlotte beat Memphis.
