SK is in that NBA no man's land. He's made the most of his game action, but compared to the slew of NBA players underachieving their way through guaranteed contracts, he's easier to cut. Being older there is also the bias that he somehow has a lower "ceiling".
It's frustrating as fans of SK because I think we all know that he can play in the league. And because you want to see a guy with his character succeed.
guys, he's not an NBA caliber player. I'm not sure why there's any confusion here.
Insufficient handles, too small to be a 2 guard, can't distrubute the rock (which he was brought in to NO to do - only had 2 assists), and he's not athletic enough to get off his own shot.
I wish him the best, but he's unlikely to every consistently hold down a spot in the NBA

He's also a slightly above average shooter at best, that's what many people forget most.
He should honestly go play overseas where he can make some really good money before his playing days end. He is costing himself a ton of money sitting in the NBDL.

Cash is playing in the D League too this year at Fort Wayne
Yeah, Cash hasn't been in EuroLeague since early 2014 and he was having a pretty bad go of it. His good year was in the Dutch League (hmm...) in 2013.
Dion is playing well over there though...was averaging upwards of 20 points per game for Hom. Beirut last season playing alongside Yancy (who is now in China averaging 19/11). Mbodj is playing very well too, putting together a 17/8 clip so far in 8 games this season at Slupsk in the Polish League.

Oh definitely, he's been in France, Finland, and Israel over four years and probably pulled in close to $700,000 playing. There is a lot of money to be had in Europe for the players who were good role players on good teams, better than playing in the NBDL with no hope of jumping to an NBA contract and making $500/game. Most of them are better than the majority of the players in the smaller leagues (Israel, Lebanon, Netherlands, Poland, Central Euro, and Nordic countries). Mbodj is absolutely tearing it up in Poland, which isn't far-fetched considering how well he was playing in the last half of his senior year...he definitely has some staying power, and there are rumors than a few Italian and German teams might make a jump at him.

Didn't Mickeal turn down multiple offers throughout his career to come back to the NBA because he was making such good money overseas?
A lot of decent college players go on to have lengthy careers overseas.

A business associate's son played overseas for 10 years. He absolutely loved it. Averaged around $150,000 a year with a housing and car allowance. Biggest drawback for him was family was stateside. Not a bad living for a decade. Its not enough to retire on but I would image there would be opportunities for guys to get a decent job when their playing days where done.
