Game Day Routine
Just curious, what are some of your game day routines fellow AAC members? Do you get up and clean or knockout house and/or yard work before the game come on or do you get a workout in or do most get food ready to enjoy before the game? I used those instances merely as examples, I am pretty sure there are a million different things a person can do before kickoff.

For me if its a noon time kick off for USF I will get up at 6am and get a mile run then come home wash up and prep food for the grill usually something quick like burgers, sausage and chicken wings. Noon time arrive sit back and enjoy.

That is my routine for the Saturdays that my sons little league football don't conflict with USF Saturday games, when they do I DVR and try to avoid all radio station, people who are talking about games and I leave my phone in the car so I won't get score alerts ruining the game for me.

RE: Game Day Routine
I guess my routine is much like everyone else's. I get up on game days around 8 o'clock. Check the weather. Make a last run to the store to get anything I still might need like extra drinks or charcoal (yeah I use charcoal). I then, about an hour before the game, bring up the hobo I have chained in the basement up and sacrifice him over the burning coals to Cthulhu in the hopes that he blesses our opponents with career ending injuries or at the very least mild insanity. So like I said, pretty routine.....

Game Day Routine
Depends on if it's a home or away game. If it is a home noon kick everything is ready the night before, and we leave by 9. I hate waiting for the game to start so I try to pre occupy myself. If it's s night game normal day, but everything stops at 4 to begin going to the game. Away noon games I try to sleep until 1145 so not much anxiety. Evening games must be in front of TV 5 mins before kickoff.

I either eat at Central BBQ on Central, next to the Liberty Bowl:

https://www.zomato.com/memphis/central-bbq-memphis

Or the TSF Hospitality tent (normally catered by Leonard's BBQ)

http://www.foodnetwork.com/restaurants/t...urant.html

Then go to the game...great food, cold beer, and Tiger football!

RE: Game Day Routine
Home games if it's A mid afternoon game I'll usually leave home about 2 to 3 hours before kickoff I live about 40 minutes from The stadium. Stop by Bojangles and grab something to eat then head to our parking spot. I like to check out the scenery for a little while then head up to the stadium maybe an hour before kick off. Pretty much the same routine with a night game. If it's a noon game the only thing that changes is I get breakfast somewhere but hell sometimes that Bojangles too so not much changes LOL. If it's an away game I just usually watch college football up until our game then watch our game. Post game either home or away we usually go out and get something to eat have some beers and celebrate if we win.

RE: Game Day Routine
I have a much more lax routine today than I used to.

When I was in band it was wake up at 6, be at the practice field at 7:30, practice and hydrate until 10:30, dress at 10:45, and then we're in it until about 4:30pm.

Do not EVER apologize/feel the need to defend using charcoal. It is the only way to grill ANYTHING, especially hobos.

Freaking gas grilling pu$$ies couldnt grill a hot dog properly let alone anything even slightly more complex.

Keep stacking those coals, friend, keep stackin.

Edit: Oh, also i get up and get ready, listen to complaints about why a game has to take up our whole day, some tailgating then i go and yell and high five anyone sitting within arms reach of me while getting glared at for high fiving folks i dont know. And drink, not too much, but enough 03-wink

I'm usually coming from Nashville and Central is typically my first stop. Followed by a lot of beer on Tiger Lane with friends.

I endorse this message. Every man in the South should be able to work a charcoal grill. Being able to operate a smoker is not far behind.

Used to find charcoal to be a major pain, but with a charcoal chimney, getting the coals nice and hot is actually not the issue it used to be.

I agree charcoal over gas, and with a charcoal chimney using charcoal isn't the PIA it used to be. Great little invention.

RE: Game Day Routine
The last couple of years I've listened to the Logan Zone on the radio on game days because I can't stomach Game Day. But now that he's with the 49ers I'll have to find something else to entertain me.

I typically get out there a little later than most folks, maybe 2 hours before kickoff. Have a portable charcoal grill and I usually do chicken or burgers. For dreaded noon kickoffs I usually leave the house at 9 (takes me about an hour and ten minutes to get to Greenville) and stop at Bojangles in Farmville on the way to the tailgate spot because I don't like to cook out that early.... not in the mood for burgers before 11:00, lol.

The night before the games is I think the kids' favorite part, because I take them to the grocery store and let them each pick out a big thing of candy to take to the game.

RE: Game Day Routine
My gear stays packed & ready to load. I've already done my small tent repairs. I can go from zero to gone in 20 minutes - like a mash unit. Full set up at tiger lane can be done from zero to beer in hand in about 30 minutes. Weekly variables focus mainly around the menus.small grill for burgers/brats, PK kitchen grill for more elaborate meals, gas smoker cabinet for ribs or propane oven/fell for early game breakfasts. I'm on site no later than 8 am regardless of kickoff.
