Hopefully. I guess the other big bad left in the current picture is Ole Miss.

Just a note, Kenny Williams has asked for a release from his VCU commitment for next season and is re-opening his recruitment process.

Don't know where we still stand with him, but we DO have a scholarship still available.

Michigan and Georgetown appear to be early favorites.

I'll bet Texas has the edge - he knows the coach there.

I read that all 3 recruits at VCU asked for their release. That could set back the program if they lose all of their recruits.

If they all end up at Texas, the VCU fan chat board will go berserk and provide good entertainment for months to come.

One can dream. While we are dreaming, even better would be 2 of them going to Texas and Williams coming to W&M.

Hey, wanted to throw this question out there to the more Twitter inclined...

Have any of our coaches sent any tweets from the Boo Williams event this weekend in Hampton?

Lots of good rising juniors and seniors in attendance. (Lots of famous coaches)

Mr. Joolius, Tribeheart, anyone??

No, but doesn't mean we aren't represented. I think I saw mention of coach Holmes watching an Indiana team play. I'm not sure which tournament it was at. The coaches don't usually tweet about recruiting. It's usually scouting services that note them in contact or attendance.

Yeah, wasn't expecting that, but maybe a mention of seeing a Coach K or Roy (both in attendance) or a shot of the inside of the Williams gym, etc.

Thanks.

One mention of Tony at Team Final (PA) vs Southern Stampede (GA) on Friday night at Boo Williams. Quick browse of the players on both teams didn't cause anything to jump out.

Nick Sherod has moved up to #142 on RIVALS 2016 Top 150.

Clayton Hughes with a nice dunk playing AAU ball down in New Orleans yesterday.

Hampton, Wofford, Mercer also among the interested.

Today opens the Spring Signing Period. Will be interesting to see what happens with the VCU kids (do they go to Texas?) and if we take anyone else.

I like our chances against those schools.

RE: 2016 Men's Basketball Recruiting Thread
Williams has more than held his own against some of the top big men in the country this past year, but classically not being ranked with those bigs because of his "tweener" height....Can you say Charles Barkley....Stanford, Vanderbilt, among others, are looking at him, and he's not an unknown, since he's playing with ESPN #2 Harry Giles on an undefeated EYBL AAU team.

Certainly the type of physical inside/outside player we've needed and reminds me of Jonathan Grimes with his interests outside of athletics, but will be a tough get. Nice write-up:

He's so big and he's not even that muscular yet. I think he could become a real force inside with a college weight training program.

I really don't want to get my hopes up, but he is exactly the type of player lacking on the Tribe. Tough, physical, aggressively posts & defends, soft scoring touch around the rim. I don't think his height hampers him at all at the CAA level. His off the court interests definitely sound like a w&m kid. Get it done coaches....

Agree 100% with mrjoolius. This young man would be a great way to break the difficult logjam
we've been in for a long time now and perhaps spur others to climb on board too.

I know we're going after very high quality prospects now, often running up against Power Five conference teams. But if you're going to do this you have to start landing one or two of those guys.

Williams would be perfect for our program and, going to an academically very strong private school, would like the academics here too.

Please, oh please, fall in love with Williamsburg. This guy sounds like the perfect fit for our needs and our philosophy.
