Nooners suck, but on the bright side you get a nap before going out to celebrate that night (as a student).

I'd take a night game any day of the week, compared to playing a nooner or Saturday. Night games at Nippert are awesome. My favorite was USF on Halloween night. One of the best atmosphere's I've witnessed as a fan.

One upside about non-Saturday games is that you get your game out of the way and actually get to watch other teams play on Saturday.

RE: Poll... Opinions on Non-Saturday games
What a lot of people aren't seeing is that by playing these non-Saturday games, we're cutting our own throats. The crowds are nearly half the size they would be on a Saturday when we play during the week. Then ESPN and others state that our low average attendance is proof that our programs lack a following.
It's a double edged sword. While you may earn more cash in the short term, in the long run you're losing your shirts.
You need to show sustained high attendance and gain high ratings to prove your woth to networks. So by taking these non-Saturday games, you're doing the opposite every time. Nothing drives ratings like sellouts. People see a game is sold out and think, maybe it will be good after all. Then they tune in if even for 1 quarter, that drives your ratings up.

agreed 100%! I know that if SEC and Big teams had to play non Saturday games like we do then they wouldn't get 100k attendance any more. Not even close. Non-Saturday games on a regular basis is detrimental to our schools long term attendance and we LL all be stuck at stadiums with 25 to 40k capacity forever due to non-Saturday games never selling out. "why build a bigger stadium if you can't sell out what you got now" the AD's say. They never mention that no school will sell out if they don't get Saturday games. One advantage the MWC has over us on our football tv contracts is that cbs-sports network gives them a lot of Saturday games. The ESPN portion of their contract is much like the AAC's:weekday games.

Have to agree on all of this. All comes back to the fact that ESPN has destroyed college football for the fan. They say jump and the schools just jump while we fans and the individuals that actually are the football programs, ie players, coaches, etc, are the ones inconvenienced by this whole mess. I used to enjoy a Thursday night game when I was in school but then I was stationed in Virginia and had a family and things became much more inconvenient. College football used to only be played on Saturdays and it was great. This realignment, TV bullcrap, chasing money has made the attending fans experience surrounding attending a college football game a pain in the ass.

Ask the University of Louisville if they agree with you. Ask any fan of Louisville about weeknight games, and see if they agree with you. I already know the answer to those two questions, but just for giggles, ask them anyway.

UofL's Thursday night success was built at a time when they were the only game in town. Since the NFL is now playing on Thursday's, the ratings have dropped dramatically. So UofL's experience is not the one you'd get today. Ask any of them about that and if they're honest, they'll agree.

Love the Thursday or Friday night games. My Saturday is open and I don't have to worry about cooking myself in a noon kickoff time in Sept. Nothing is worse than a noon game in Florida.

You Eastern time zone guys are actually lucky on those. In the Central time zone they're 11 am games. UH had several 11 am home games last year.
It was just wrong to hear the announcer say "good morning Cougar fans".

Ok, for the dozen or two or three, that might be true but for the other 99.9%, they don't have sons playing HS Football, the above is not much of a concern.

And actually parents with kids have their own tee ball or soccer games on Saturday. Only tricky part is these Thursday and Friday games usually start at 8pm.
I now love the Thursday and Friday night games. Guarantees us a night game which is huge plus in Florida and I have all my Saturday open.
