Maximus, I don't get it either. Perhaps lets start fresh. Please explain what you're talking about. I think it's just a misunderstanding. Hell, we might even be able to figure it out cordially! 03-wink

The ACA allowed my to keep my daughter on my plan until she was 26, thereby saving her/us thousands of dollars separately insuring her.

That's just one of the benefits I got and again, I didn't have to do anything different to get it.

Right the *free* insurance came with a pony...

I work for a very large hospital/clinic system and we will never take the ACA plans. We are in the business of keeping our doors open and staying financially solvent and if you think Obamacare will do that you're a bigger idiot than first thought.

BTW, rural hospitals are dying or going for profit for a reason. ....government intervention.

I'll call BS on the "we will never take the ACA plans" statement. That doesn't even make sense. The only plans that aren't ACA (QHP) are the grandfathered plans. Group plans, individual plans, plans subsidized, plans not subsidized, bought on an exchange, plans bought directly from an insurance agent every one of them are ACA qualified health plans. What exactly do you do at this "very large hospital / clinic system?

What the hell are you talking about.

Just because insurance companies have been forced to do certain things don't make them ACA plans.

I worked as a clinician/provider for 17 years. I was recruited to work in our corporate office leading a team of 35 people on a project that has a budget in the hundreds of millions of dollars range.

I'm in executive meetings almost on a daily basis where decisions are being made or not made based on the steaming pile called Obamacare.

What the heck are you talking about? You said your hospital system would never take ACA plans. What is your definition of an ACA plan that your system will not take? You aren't making any sense. Health insurance plans have to be ACA compliant.

I'm disappointed to see that you have no justification for your claim that no one should have to pay more than 9.5% of their income for health insurance. There's not much use in talking to a parrot.
I don't need justification if I'm talking about a fact, not an opinion. Subsidies are based on income. 9.5% is the figure used. Try to stay up. :)
It's sad that you aren't even useful as a parrot. If you are going to act like a condescending little twit, you should at least know what you are talking about. Otherwise, you just look like a moron.

The word "should" in this case does not denote a judgement on my part as to what is fair or reasonable. It is in reference to the law that sets the amount of premium that is subsidized. You should reasonably be able to recognize the need to infer enough into what I wrote, at least after I elaborated in a follow up post, that I wasn't expressing an opinion, but stating that if properly applied using the law no one "should" pay more than 9.5% of their income for health insurance.

Excuse me? You are trying to take the high road? Seriously? I said you were acting like a condescending little twit because you were acting like a condescending little twit. If you want to be treated with respect, perhaps you should show some.

Do you, or do you not, know why 9.5% of a person's income is the appropriate amount that they should pay for health insurance?

Yes I'm taking to high road because I've never resorted to the juvenile behavior of many on here. If you can point out where I've been disrespectful I would appreciate it but I don't think I have. I'd much rather we just discuss the issue.

Why the developers of the ACA selected 9.5% I can't say for sure. I would assume it is based on financial data developed by economists. It is really isn't pertinent though. It is the threshold they established so unless they change it that is it.

I'm not avoiding a question.

You can't comprehend what an ACA plan is in the first place.

Tell you what, randomly call up 50 physician offices across the country and ask them if they take Obamacare plans.

You should educate yourself about something before showing your ass for weeks on end.

An ACA plan? A tax plan!!

Even the 2014 tax form proves it:

Ok, so you don't know why the threshold was set at 9.5%. Can you at least tell me why it makes sense for everyone to have the same threshold, regardless of how much health care they are consuming? And why does it make sense to force relatively poor young people to subsidize the relatively wealthy old people? Regardless of whether each is only paying 9.5% of their income, the subsidies are still transferring wealth from the poor to the rich. A portion of the relatively poor young person's premiums is being used to subsidize the premiums of the relatively wealthy old person. How does that make sense to you?

RE: Obamcare Death Sentence Could Come As Early As Tomorrow
Gentlemen, take a step back. Look at who is glomming on to this entitlement and who funds it.

There is your answer. The takers don't care a whit about who pays for it. Whether it be their socialized healthcare, their housing, their "help" with pharmaceuticals, pensions, dental, or anything else.

Read these threads over the past few months or years. Its pretty telling.

You can't comprehend what an ACA plan is in the first place.

Tell you what, randomly call up 50 physician offices across the country and ask them if they take Obamacare plans.

You should educate yourself about something before showing your ass for weeks on end.

Okay so you don't want to answer.

I'll keep it simple for you since you have obvious problems.

We do not take the **** insurance that is sold on the exchanges.......the only way you get through our doors with it, is the ER....

comprehend that?

Wow

Obviously you don't understand

EVERY one of them? Not all ACA plans are bargain basement are they? And is this any different than what you accepted before the ACA? Be honest.
