Wasn't it slated to be on watauga in the master plan, wonder what caused the change?

400 students...Wow would have thought there would be more.

The master plan definitely had it on Watauga. Wonder what changed, what will go there now, and if the property acquisition is simply going too slowly.

I know that at one point Watauga was supposed to be the "grand entrance" to the University off of Highland, I wonder if that is still in the cards.

Guess the music building will take the place of the proposed parking garage next to holiday inn in the master plan.

I doubt it. The acoustic are horrible in Rose. The majority of the concerts was being held in Harris.

Rose's renovations are more along the lines of just keeping up with the times & getting new paint, etc. Most of the events held there are outside people coming in to rent the facility as well, not just student events.

I've never heard anything deviating from the Watauga location....part of me wonders if this reporter got his wires crossed about where the current music building is & where the new one will be.

the group that is working on the master plan is scheduled to meet with the university via teleconference in August, then will be back on campus in september to present their plan, & will present to the TBOR by the end of the year.
