President Obama: Republicans aren't terrible people --- they're just wrong
[Image: 333igjc.jpg]

We’re just dumb, or something.

Quote:You poor, misguided Republicans. If only you could get with President Obama’s program, everything would be right in America again.

That’s how Obama sugarcoated his latest round of criticism of the GOP in his speech on the economy in Denver on Wednesday.

“Now, I always have to say this: I don’t think that they’re all terrible people. I think they love their families. They love the country,” Obama explained. “They’ve got a different economic theory. Maybe they don’t know what ordinary folks are going through. But maybe it’s not that they don’t get it. Maybe it’s just because the theory they have is, is that if the economy is doing good for folks at the very top, then it’s going to help everybody else — despite the fact that we have evidence over and over again that those theories have failed the middle class.”

I agree with him. Republicans are wrong for his economic plan. However, there are terrible people in both parties.

Bingo

"We" elected him twice. There is strong evidence that he's right.

Is anyone really expecting anything but jibberish to come out of Obama's mouth?

Meanwhile, Progressives celebrate more people working part-time jobs and the Dow (mostly owned by the wealthy, and increasingly so) at 17,000 as proof of his economic policies working. Because, you know, they are fighting for the middle class and hate that trickle-down stuff.

me thinks they call that a bubble waiting to rupture.....kinda like the rapture, but different

if any individual operated on the business principles of our gov't, they would be living in zimbabwe

Umm, isn't this Obama's theory? He's always touting the stock market gains while income inequality has grown worse under him. The economy sucks for "main street." He hasn't realized that the policies he supports are causing that increasing disparity.

What this country really needs is to get rid of this imperial presidency concept. We need to move a lot of power from the executive back to the legislative branch, and probably a bit from executive to judicial. The founders intended three branches, but left little doubt that congress was to be first among equals. Unfortunately, we've gotten to the point where congress critters would rather pass the buck and live off perks and lobbyists. And nobody is going to get her/himself elected for the purpose of giving up power.

Wisdon is knowing you're not the smartest person in the room.
Telling people you're the one who knows what's right is nothing but arrogance, served with a side order of narcissism.

One small change. You may well be the smartest person in the room---somebody has to be, after all--but even if you are, you're not smarter than the whole room.

maintaining power is so predictable......one would think our predecessors would've figured that part out by now.....now we're just fkd
