What this country really needs is to get rid of this imperial presidency concept. We need to move a lot of power from the executive back to the legislative branch, and probably a bit from executive to judicial. The founders intended three branches, but left little doubt that congress was to be first among equals. Unfortunately, we've gotten to the point where congress critters would rather pass the buck and live off perks and lobbyists. And nobody is going to get her/himself elected for the purpose of giving up power.
....easily the most important word.....to eradicate....
maintaining power is so predictable......one would think our predecessors would've figured that part out by now.....now we're just fkd

Eradicating lobbyists is a nice sound byte.

But that's about all it is. Think it through, there's no way to have a representative government and electoral politics without some form of influence. Lobbyists actually perform some useful functions--and without some of them government would not function.

It's easy in theory to design a political system run by angels. The problem is finding the angels to run it. The best we can do is limit the power and disperse it as widely as possible to make influencing the system harder.

It's ironic that those who scream loudest about abuses of lobbyists are generally (not always, but generally) the same people who want more regulation and bigger and more centralized government--the precise environment in which lobbyists thrive.

I agree with most of that.....excluding the lobbyists....I will never agree that they serve anything other than an isolated function.....to me, it's the same as owning slaves or the purpose of unions in today's economic world....changing and adapting has become a lost art in this country....

if our gov't was really run with the people in mind (at the macro level)....it would make me feel a tad better....

you nailed the angel thingy....the 'who' is the issue

The only people who are dumb are people who still think this man isn't trying to harm the United States and think he can be negotiated with.

Typical elitist, condescending attitude.

How can a grown man or woman tell an entire base of people that they're the ones that are wrong when politics are based on opinions? Obama needs to take that High School drama queen clique shiit back to Chicago.

I looked for him in some of the gay pride marches recently.
Didn't see him.

in actuality, it would be the DNC that is the problem.....or those that don't have that want to continue to have something......better get used to the siphoning effect and figure out how to make more fkn money....it's the only option the middle class has at this point....
