Why the rush to call kids transgender?
Quote:They just let me be me. They let me be a girl who wore jeans more often than skirts. They let me play with slingshots rather than princess wands. They didn’t conclude that I was gay, or transgender. They didn’t put me in a box that would shape my future, at the expense of my own free will.

My best friends growing up, until around the age of 14, were boys. Sure, I had girl friends, but my best friends, the ones I identified with most, were boys. Every evening after dinner I would go outside and play football with my neighbor friend, Tom. My very best friend in the world was a boy named Robin. His wife is a friend of mine to this day. My friend Andrew and I would make swords out of plywood and burn our names in them with soldering irons. We made elaborate models of “trampoline worlds” because, bouncing around is waaaay better than walking, right? I wished so badly that I could play baseball on my friend Jaime’s team with him.

Bottom line she's hetrosexual, just a tomboy. Had her parents had the LGBT gaystapo advising they would have told them she must be gay or transgender.

the story of a male-identifying little girl who didn’t transition

I grew up with a girl who was a year older than me and she was better at most sports until I was 12 or so. And she could kick my ass, too. Today there's not even a hint of the ABCD's in her. Regular gal, husband, kids, probably a soccer mom, too. Back in those days you were what your body parts said you were.

In the effort to get people to not judge others by being so concerned with labels (a worthy cause), the LGBT community has actually promoted the usage of labels so that they'll be judged.

I honestly think that kids are asexual until they hit puberty. Its the parents job to teach them to be boys and girls so that they grow up to be men and women. Anything less and you will have a bunch of messed up kids who don't know who they are until they hit their twenties.

I think we all have stories of females hanging w/ the dudes or that loner dude that hung w/ the girls. And in each case, the individuals that hung out w/ the opposite sex usually were indeed straight, although we did torment the f*ck that chilled w/ the girls. Little did we know that dude was getting action well before us... Play on playa.

RE: Why the rush to call kids transgender?
Every time I read into it I always here a bunch of them saying "Kids know their gender identity by the age of two, didn't you know YOU were a guy at age two?" Then when I try to engage in discussion I get the same old "You just don't understand, you don't know what you're talking about."

Okay. I think many parents rush into it because they're scared, kids are committing suicide left and right these days from bullying and not being accepted because they're different/feel like they cannot be their true self. I really do feel bad for them, because 90% of bullies in grade school are f*cking losers who will never amount to anything and end up as trailer park welfare recipients (where I'm from anyway). I remember seeing kids get kicked when they were down, it was sad. However, I don't think rushing to transgenderism at a young age is the answer.

Only an idiot thinks the LGBT is judging kids younger than their teens.

It's funny that the party that hates gay people the most, have the most in the closet. 05-stirthepot

That's not true whatsoever. If you read the comment sections on these stories about 3,4 and 5 y/o transgender children, you'll see thousands of comments about children identifying their gender identity by age 2.

I just don't understand how people reach the conclusion that they're the wrong gender. Do they assume that feminine traits make them a woman on the inside, rather than a less masculine man?

For years feminists fought to remove the gender identity from things like football, GI Joes, Army Men, etc. If a girl wanted to play football, or with action figures, etc...she wasn't a "tomboy," but just a girl who liked those things. Same thing for a boy with barbie dolls, etc. Same thing with hanging out with the guys, or hanging out with the girls, short hair, baggy clothes, pretty much anything we label for guys or girls.

I've seen people present this to the transgender-child crowd only to get hit back with a "you don't understand" or "Didn't you know you were a boy at age 4?"

I guess I legitimately don't understand and may not ever understand. Yes, I knew I was a boy- everyone told me I was.

I guess my non-PC opinion comes down to this: if people weren't so hung up on what makes someone a man or a woman, there would be no transgendered individuals. People would accept that they were an masculine woman or a feminine man, not that they ended up with the wrong sex. It all just seems like a construct of modern society.

Sounds like OP girl had good parents who made correct decisions. But every family is different and every child. I wont let one anecdote sway me. Tough situations tough decisions.

5 year old logic... it isn't complicated. It comes from the parents.

Agree. That is how it used to be. Now we have the rise of the transgendered and sex changes and they have a much higher suicide rate now than before.

I don't think anyone younger than 15 or 16 should be concerned with if they're the wrong sex.

I think the discussion came up about a 4 year old girl that wanted to be a boy and several here were saying it was a wise decision by the parents... And I disagree. I mean I have a 4 year old nephew that wants to be Spiderman, does that mean we buy him a spandex suit and let him fight crime? No we wait until the phase is over then see what happens.

If you're a boy, end of story, you're a boy. The idiot that thinks he's a girl is confused and in need of serious help. They aren't offered help though. They only get re-enforcements in their delusions.

How sad. Clearly Ryland is in an advanced state of denial and nobody was there for him to work it out.

sorry man, but big difference between underoos and sexual dysfunction....

the fact that we can communicate at this level and have 'some' understanding is actually remarkable....

this type of shite has always existed in scale.....you and most were not raised to acknowledge it....and neither was I....

me thinks they call that 'growing pains'....on an evolutionary scale

whether one agrees with it or not is totally irrelevant.....every situation is different and cannot be argued in scope....
