Trouble in Miami
http://espn.go.com/college-football/stor...ex-charges

Quote:Two University of Miami football players arrested on sexual battery charges against a "physically helpless" 17-year-old girl were dismissed from the team and suspended Tuesday.

Court and jail records show JaWand Blue and Alexander Figueroa were booked on the charges Tuesday. Both are 20-year-old linebackers.

According to the police report, both players admitted to buying drinks for the accuser, bringing her back to Figueroa's dorm room in the early-morning hours of Saturday and repeatedly performing sexual acts, including intercourse, without her consent while she was intoxicated and "physically helpless to resist."

Both players face charges of sexual battery on a physically helpless victim and are being held on $10,000 bond, according to the Miami-Dade County records obtained by the Palm Beach Post.

Figueroa is additionally charged with possession of a stolen or forged driver's license.

Quote:One of the biggest accomplishments Miami made on defense this past spring was building its depth. That, however, takes a hit with Figueroa and Blue gone.

Both played as true freshmen last year and were going to be counted on to improve a unit that has only one standout. Figueroa, who started two games in 2013 and finished with 17 tackles, was the favorite to win the starting strongside linebacker job. Senior Thurston Armbrister is expected to take that role now.

Blue was penciled in to back up middle linebacker Denzel Perryman, the best player on the defense.

To Miami's credit they dealt with it appropriately. I fully expect that these two will end up at Auburn, LSU, or Oklahoma as those schools have shown they have no problem accepting criminals from other schools.

RE: Trouble in Miami
Auburn and Louisville seem to be the two with the most "rejects", by far.

And Miami didn't have a choice. The two players were charged and arrested. They both admitted to the crimes. I know some schools have a policy that any student/player charged with a felony is automatically suspended.

I really don't expect either of them to end up here. people are okay with giving second chances until they find out the first chance was some sort of sexual crime.

Louisville takes guys for stuff like weed and non-violent things. I can't think of anytime we've accepted or kept around someone with a sexual assault type charge. Hell, we just kicked off one of our best LB recruits for consensual sex with his cousin (he's from and this happened in FLA...spare the KY jokes).

I'm not even sure They could enroll at another ACC school anyway. But Yeah, We don't condone violent criminals and They wouldn't be admitted at Louisville anyway.

Hey, I don't have a problem with schools giving kids a second chance, or third. Whatever. Just pointing out that UL has taken a ton of them lately.

The other kid is from NY or NJ or somewhere up "north". People do stupid sh*t everywhere. Sadly.
