RE: NBR: Memphis football player in altercation with Memphis basketball player
Can't read the whole thing without a subscription, but if it's clear who the aggressor was, he's the one that gets the boot.

Maybe both should be kicked off the teams.

It's Memphis. They'll be permanently banned, until the first sign of trouble in their respective sports, then re-instated.

The employee shoved to the floor should file an assault charge. At any reputable school, that alone would get him kicked off the team -- and probably out of the University.
Note the word "reputable," which will never apply to Memphis.

To answer MB's original questions, they should be treated as any other students.
I know. Fat chance.

I knew exactly where you were going with this and that's why I didn't reply. I don't think every case is cut and dry. I was standing in the Blount hall parking lot with a friend one day and these two idiots decided they were going to storm at us and tackle us. Was it dumb? Yeah. Should they have been expelled?(if they were students, never found them) Even as a victim id say no.
One dumb decision doesn't define most people. It's how you learn and grow from past mistakes that defines you.(in the normal realm here, murder or something along those lines is different). Since this thing with Frazier happened you have wanted to be judge jury and executioner. Can you imagine why your life would be like if every time you made a mistake you were not given a second chance?
