That's funny, because by posting a spoiler in your thread title, I was going to compare you to the little girl in the Hyundai commercial.

You cost me about 14 minutes of suspense in watching that game on the DVR (not that I made it through the first two people that had seen yesterday's game without finding out what happened in that game)...

I'll be pulling for Argentina only because it will piss off the right-wingers more than Germany winning. Not that a sports event should be political, but everything is political in right-wing bizarro world.

This right winger is pulling for Argentina as should any other American.

The only game I didn't catch was Ghana (and I heard we had no business winning), but we were on our heels nearly the whole game against Portugal, Germany, and Belgium and lucky we weren't blown out in all of those.

Germany and Belgium were obviously the better teams but we held our own agains Portugal. Of course Portugal's best player wasn't 100% but he was still pretty damn good. I think we played well against Ghana and Portugal but were just outclassed by Germany and Belgium.

Ghana held possession far better than the US did, but I think the US is a better team.

Yet, no right winger has even brought up politics. Instead it's the resident uber leftist that brings it to the table, first hoping the outcome of a soccer game will "piss off" right wingers (doubtful), then by making another false accusation about who really allows their political views to seep into EVERYTHING they touch.

Funny, huh?

Isnt Germany one of the more liberal countries?

Right... because no other threads about soccer exist around here. There is no history to this subject.

At least try to engage your brain before you post. If not for yourself, then do it for those who might read your posts.

I'd say that Germany is more right than Argentina is.

Well, then make up your mind. Go post your juvenile tripe in the thread where it may be somehow relevant, or don't.

This thread is about the World Cup, try and keep up sport-o.

Ghana is like the other African countries. Big, fast, with loads of talent, who can create good chances, but aren't quite organized enough to execute. I think of them as teams like the St. Louis Rams.

Sorry.

No worries.

It's not nearly as bad as what my brother in law did. In 6 words or less, he gave away the results of US-Belgium (because I didn't have the foresight to look at the schedule prior to the WC and schedule vacation days).

For the Brazil-Mexico game, my 9 year old son said he wasn't going to give away the results, but he just wanted to comment on the Mexico team... "the Mexican goalkeeper was on fire"... another spoiler given away...

Along with last yesterday's game, that's three results given away by people that knew I didn't want to hear the results, but couldn't help themselves. At least with the Germany-Brazil game, (1) I was pretty sure Germany would win one way or the other, and (2) there wasn't much drama after the early minutes.
