Next Monetization Step; Breaking Sports Marketing Contracts
Look for this to be a trend for schools with national brand appeal. Short article discusses UK, Rutgers and Cuse.

Maybe Syracuse should worry a little less about money and a little bit more about putting a decent team on the football field for a change.

Unnecessary for starters. And more money and exposure tends to help with putting a better product out there.

I think this is just more proof that ANY contract can be broken when an entity believes there is more money to be made elsewhere...

Signing a marketing contract, like a TV Grant of Rights, is agreeing to sign over your rights to for a specific amount of time for a specified monetary value. Now that schools are breaking their marketing contracts easily for more money, how long before a Grant of Right is challenged?

Or the other way around. How long until this TV payout deal bubble pops from declining cable viewers and Fox tells the Big East or that rights management company tells Kentucky they will no longer pay them that absurd amount?

I think Grants of Rights can be broken, its just going to be some prohibitively large exit fee that would get someone out of one.
