Would always like to see our band play Tennessee Waltz after each
game. New band directors have not always endorsed it, but just
makes me wait to hear it.

Makes me miss Cherokee. I still do not understand why the band doesn't continue to play it at least once a game.

I could go on and on about all of Southern's traditions, but the game day traditions like the yellow school buses and freedom's flight are by far my favorites.

The football players after a victory coming over to the band section to celebrate and do chants.

Also my fav is the SOTS post game performance.

The live Eagle you guys had flying around the stadium before our game was very cool. Is that done before every home game?

I've always enjoyed that. our guys come in front of the band for the alma mater whether we win or lose.. When we played Navy a few years back, their players came over in front of our band with our players during our alma mater.

I mentioned in another thread that NMSU has a dog that retrieves the kicking tee, we also have a horse Named Keystone who races around the field as the team comes out at the start of the game and after half time.

Does anybody ride that horse? I remember back in 2002 when we played at Furman and the Paladin was thrown off his charger. I hate to laugh and someones misfortune but must confess, I could not help it. Thank goodness he was alright.

Yes, our Rodeo Teams Head Coach rides Keystone, which is his personal horse.

I thought it was interesting that they said UTA's tradition was unique. We do a similar trade, and honestly I figured other schools did it (not just UTA).

I've never heard of a swap day before-if it goes to other clothing items like hats that would be REALLY cool

RE: The Traditions of the Sunbelt Conference
At Texas State, it's called Trade up. It started after I left, but I am pretty sure it's an annual occurrence.

When they started, I thought it was a great idea. Even considered going to buy a UT shirt just to trade it in... Then realized that would TOTALLY defeat the purpose of it.

Doesn't Troy have a rodeo team?
Did NMSU beat Troy's rodeo team?

(we played it after every game under Hatcher)
