Nice write up. I agree the Cougars should have a really strong season. The schedule sets up well for you also.
New stadium, 7 home games, 8 games in Texas. I am hoping that it is nice and cold on Dec. 6 though.

The Third Ward is also known as the "Tre" for short.

Sometimes, UH's Third Ward Defense refers to themselves as the "Sons of the Tre."

Looks like you guys are returning a good number of defenders this season. With your favorable schedule, I think you guys are the AAC's best (perhaps only) chance at getting the access bowl.

Dropping That 3rd Ward D On 'Em
Personally, I think Houston could be the UCF of the AAC this year.

As far as an urban campus goes, almost all of us located in or near bad areas of a city. Just the way it is. Instead of living in a town that is only there because of a school, we all were part of a city. For me, that is what I wanted. I found college towns boring once you reach 21. More to do in a city, and our schools could beat up other schools....haha.

HA! That's a new one on me. Sons of the Tre could also work for Cougar Basketball once Coach Sampson gets things turned around.

One of my co-workers told me he had to Google 'Third Ward Cougars' during a Texan game last year when they showed Case and ran his bio clip at the start of the game...He introduced himself as 'Case Keenum - Third Ward Cougars.'

Classic. He played so freakin' well that first half. It's a shame the defense had to choke it away. 03-weeping
