Agree with the bold portion, Texas will never decide on UC because an AAC school will never be in the Big 12....07-coffee3

LOL and JML FINALLY plays his hand.

You clearly have never been to UC. If you had, you would know that we have great athletic facilities and they are only getting better with the upgrade of historic Nippert Stadium. You don't live in Cali either....hows the weather in Lubbock?

Thanks for your coach!!!! Bet it's embarrassing that a G5 school hired your coach away hahahaha.

1. I used to live in Cincinnati and have seen all the facilities (Marge Schott, Varsity Village, etc). Nippert is finally getting renovated...in fact that whole area of the campus next to TUC was fenced off. The Shoe badly needs to be redone because the concession lay out is pretty bad and you end up missing some action. When was the last time you were on campus????

2. Los Angeles is pretty nice, a little hot yesterday.

3. WTF????

07-coffee3

you spewed stuff about UC that I've seen other say here recently, it proves nothing. And Texas Tech doesn't have the magic fan base in texas like you say...you guys are way way way behind the two big boys and you know it.
You keep trying to bait me but I will not fall for it. Stop with the false accusations...04-cheers

IIRC, those other projects started earlier than Nippert.

Yeah I saw that. It just seemed like there were UH photos almost weekly.

I believe they've got a live camera on the stadium, at least they did a few months ago.

I think UC clearly played is safe relative to getting the project complete. My guess is that getting equipment, materials, into the middle of campus (next to academic buildings, pedestrian walkways) takes more time and planning as opposed to a stand alone stadium.
It is coming along and should be completed well prior to the 2015 season. Most of the work is on the Westside, there will be some tweaks to the Eastside and the upper deck will have a bridge above the main concourse to a large open area where is additional concessions and beer. Really good idea to cut down on congestion.

It has been interesting to compare the progress of the new Tulane and Houston stadiums with Nippert Stadium. Just by looking at the Nippert construction cam it seems like things are moving slowly to me. But I'm sure there is a lot more going on that we don't see in the camera view.

You make a good point about the planning and scheduling required taking more time than starting from scratch.

RE: Cincy stadium
There have been updates...

A LOT of the work thus far has been BELOW grade. There used to be a steam-generating plant behind the North endzone, and so all the utilities run underneath Nippert and a lot of care had to be taken in sinking the foundations. Plus, there are sub-levels below the old press-box that had to be re-enforced, etc...

The other thing is the new building is "top-heavy" and so most of the work had to be sub-grade up to this point. Once the foundations are set, the building should progress quickly.

Why would someone be worried about a 40,000 seat (perfectly fine) historic, unique, and very soon state-of-the-art facility? Nippert represents everything that is good about college football by going against the NCAA status quo

Funny enough, if UC set the same width as Michigan the stadium would hold almost 60,000 (according to what I was told by a former AD).

I think part of one of our expansions was renumbering the bleacher style seats and adding atleast 2 more fans per row...I wish I was kidding; I had to upgrade to a chairback section when they became available so my middle aged butt could enjoy the games.

I hope to visit this damn stadium if the freaking AAC will let UCF and Cincy actually play each other -________- .

I'd just hope since we got screwed with our home schedule that it would be Cincy first visiting us, and that we'd have a cool trophy to commemorate the new rivalry...

Is that too much to ask for?

I like it. Plus, now that I am in Florida, Orlando is the closest for me to see Cincinnati play.

Man now that we are around 40 or so days out, it's hard to believe where we were this time last year.
