The American's current membership
The American's current lineup is the same as the 9 football teams Conference USA had in the mid-2000s with the addition of Connecticut and Temple and future football only member Navy in 2015. This means The American basketball will have only 11 full members, while football will have 12 (as of 2015).

I don't see your point. Anything in your post anyone didn't know?

The future of the AAC will be tied to TV ratings and attendance, primarily for Football. Yes, UConn's twin basketball championships helped establish the conference "brand" but do many really think AAC when they think of Huskies basketball?

This coming season will be a big one. If the league were like the old C-USA football, where most games were without a lot of punting (first one to 50 wins!) we'd probably grow the ratings. I fear that D around the conference is going to prevent the "track meet" type games from happening regularly.
