RE: At the Expense of GM
^Back in the 80's I was working for the largest defense contractor in the country. Since taxpayers were indirectly paying my salary decided to buy American when I needed a new car. Brought the Chevy home and when I looked closely at the dealer sticker it said port of entry was Port Huron.

That didn't work out so well.

Last new car I bought was a Toyota, made in the USA.

Really? We've got an '03 TL-S with 220K+ on it. Runs like a champ and still looks great inside and out. Had to have some tranny work done on it around 150K, but that's really it.

What issues are you having with yours?

Recently had the timing belt changed. Set me back $700. Thursday, it goes in for a new air conditioning compressor. That little baby – parts and labor – it's about $900. I just had to order a new windshield wiper blade, that was $65 for one blade. It turns out you have to special order them, can't get them at Pep Boys or someplace like that. When I am not pissing away money, it is a beautiful car.
