RE: Josh Harrison
He's the best utility player in the NL. Without him, the Pirates aren't back in the Central race. Calling him a sparkplug wouldn't give him justice on the importance he's had. Definitely a balla and is thriving in his role. Would love to see him be set in an everyday position.

It seems like there has been a growing contingent of fans who want Alvarez shifted to 1st to get him more PA's. Do you think he's doing so well because he's not an everyday player, or does his game transcend utility player status? I admittedly haven't watched much Pirates baseball, but do try to keep at least statistical tabs on all the former Bearcats in the various levels.

RE: Josh Harrison
He shifts positions every day. One day he's in RF, the next he's in LF, the next he's at 2B, and then at 3B. There's actually a contingent of Pirates fans that wants Pedro traded and Josh at 3B. I think they're lunatics. Pirates invested far too much money in Pedro to just trade away the NL HR King ('13) in favor of Harrison. I think Harrison is a quality player and a great person. I just don't know where he could start. The outfield is set for at least the next 6-7 years, 2B is set with Walker, and Clint doesn't seem to have faith in Harrison as an everyday SS. I'd take him any day over Mercer and Barmes.
