UCF, Cincinnati, ECU and Houston should battle for the AAC football title in most years.

Penn State has a new coach after losing O'Brien to NFL

I am excited to see what kind of team we have next season. It's really hard to forecast this team for 2014.

It doesn't bug me that people use Central Florida, but the Golden Knights thing still bugs me.

As far as hypothetical alternative names. I like Florida Tech Titans as a potential name using our old FTU. Titan being a Moon and tying into the space theme we had before.

I'm happy we are the UCF Knights! Hopefully it continues to grow as a national brand. USC doesn't have any abbreviation issues.

It harkens back to the idea of a "directional school" and everything that comes along with that. Ucf is what we have been trying to brand ourselves as for years and the national media seems to use c.florida or some variant although nothing is branded that way. What's worse is they only do it for big games lol. Anyway it's a symbol of being the little guy and "not making it" so it's a thorn in fans side. It's almost like the national media is doing it on purpose. Either way we want to be known as Ucf and it drives is nuts to hear central Florida. As others have said Florida tech is preferred as we started as an engineering feeder school for nasa and the Space program.
