It makes it clear that the voting public is filled with vapid...self consumed ignoramuses. No fcking wonder we have such horrible leadership. These are the morons that elect the leadership.
When a black guy fails to say "Slavery" when asked "?What was the civil war about?" We have reached a new low in dumbassery.
I hire young people all the time with similar lack of basic knowledge of the world. It baffles me the lack everyday common knowledge that I see all around me. I am never surprised at anything I see now.
Or maybe they want to be on TV, so they say something outrageous to get on.

So....It was a group conspiracy to come up and look stupid on TV? Weak sauce Memphis.
Doesn't it bother you that this guy could find this many ignorant people in one place? It saddens the hell out of me. These are the next generation of Moms and Dads. Damn.
people love seeing themselves on TV...that fact has nothing to with a "group conspiracy" even though I know you guys love that kind of stuff.
Just making a point. You are suggesting that in "one" location that many people decided to act ignorant and make themselves look stupid to get on TV. That was my slant on it being a group thing.
You could be right. Maybe people are just that fcking vapid. Hey..maybe Fox paid them to act stupid. Nah...that would be another conspiracy.
Id be mortified if anyone saw me not being able to answer the most basic US history questions....even if (as you suggest) I intentionally gagged them. I expect you would also.
Fo - one of the reasons I like this place is because most everyone here I consider relatively intelligent and informed. I mean, there are several folks on here that I disagree with almost totally politically, but they aren't ignorant of most of the basics of American history, etc.
It really is astounding just how ignorant large swaths of the American population is. Hell, millions couldn't write in the different states if they had a gun to their head let alone know the basics of the American Revolution, Civil War, etc.

Good points....In fact many times topics come up here in which I feel the need to be better educated on. Over at the history site... I realized that my knowledge of WW1 was totally lacking. It has spurred me to delve deeper into it. I have actually been embarrassed with myself at just how little I knew about the craziest war in modern times. I'd blame it on a lousy ass government school education...but...that is just an excuse.

Ironically that was the very worst thing they could have done. Now they look like petulant children who "take their ball and go home."
Anyone who has ever spent a day in Ithaca knows that it exists in the 5th ring of hell.

That's typical though, isn't it? All liberal until one disagrees with their way of thinking.

The kids that responded that they feed the professors what they want to hear, will make a fortune on Wall Street.
It gives me hope that these smart kids are actually smarter than their professors. There is hope for this next generation.

Watters is nothing but O Reilly 's little attack dog. He comes off as a bitter, young smart arse.

Yeah, that's his gig. Me makes people uncomfortable which is funny. Some folks have no sense of humor.

I see no bitterness....not sure that is the right adjective you're going for.

When I see someone like Water's who enjoys making other people look stupid it shows that he's insecure of his own lack of education or intelligence

Indeed. Asking College students "who fought in the Civil War" or "who attacked at Pearl Harbor" and their not knowing is Watters making them look stupid. Seems they are doing that just fine themselves.
Course I guess there's some chance they never took a history part 1 or 2 class, so simply don't know instead of being completely stupid.
No, actually, there is no chance of that. Just stupid.

These are not hard questions. It's not like anyone needs a PhD to answer simple questions. Come on man, some people are just stupid.

No. If you live in this Country and don't know or haven't learned who fought in, or who won, the Civil War or who attacked us at Pearl Harbor, you have to have worked to be a special kind of stupid.
To find out that these are College students makes it mind-numbing stupidity.
