Looking at all the schools several CUSA teams do to be off to a very good starts in recruiting. Of course the ratings will change a lot over between now and signing date, but still impressive.

Since the number of verbals influences ranking heavily, I have listed the number of recruits with the ranking of AAC and CUSA schools in parenthesis. Those schools with not so many verbals will obviously catch up. The CUSA/East school that is really doing well in recruiting is FAU. FAU is very competitive with BCS and NonBCS schools. FIU killed itself when they fired their coach.

I went thru ODU's recruits and the Monarchs are doing well; Nine of ODU's 16 recruits are from VA/DC. Charlotte is not recruiting nearly as strong as ODU.

#36 Cincinnati (17)
#49 Rice (15)
#54 FAU (11)
#55 LaTech (16)
#57 Old Dominion (16)
#65 UTSA (12)
#67 Marshall (13)
#71 SMU (10)
#72 Houston (9)
#76 ECU (9)
#80 Tulane (9)
#84 Temple (9)
#85 USF (5)
#86 UConn (10)
#88 UCF (5)
#94 Tulsa (6)
#96 UAB (6)
#98 Memphis (5)
#99 FIU (7)

ODU got its 17th commitment from 3* WR Quincy Watts, making it our 7th 247 3* recruit, and pushed us into 50th Nationally in 247's rankings, right behind Rice. It's not a terribly big deal, but it is cool to say right now.

45 Oklahoma State
46 Pittsburgh
47 Indiana
48 Texas Tech
49 Rice
50 Old Dominion
51 Western Michigan
52 Virginia
53 Brigham Young
54 Jose State
55 Florida Atlantic

ODU is a school I could see doing quite well in FBS. They have an impressive base of support for new a FBS school and have the budget needed to succeed. That said, the truth is, most any G5 school is a good coach away from success a bad hire away from failure.
