This is sad, pathetic, and is directly on the hands of this government that is saying it's ok to cross over to America. Normally I don't have much feeling for illegal immigrants that sneak into this country, but this story really breaks my heart. This kid was given a glimmer of hope as he was told it was ok to come to America. 11 years old and made a 1200 mile journey by himself because the government told him it's ok. Any of you that support this border crisis need to be shot in the leg and tossed in the desert. This a motherf*cking atrocity. And he had his brother's Chicago phone number written on his belt. It really is... I don't feel one ounce of remorse for the boy's family, I hold them partly responsible. But my heart breaks for that boy, as I'm almost certain that most of his 1200 mile travel was done alone and with no friends...

Can you ever have one single logical debate? Reagan and Bush didn't tell them to come on over while the gettin's good. This kid's glimmer of hope rests solely on the hands of his family and this Administration. You don't like it, I get it, but it's the truth.

It's a price the Democrats are willing to pay. They cannot erect the utopia unless they flood the nation with poor, uneducated illegal immigrants that can't speak our language.

The Government has certainly made it clear that they don't really intend to enforce our border... and while I may have missed it, I don't recall any PSAs in Spanish from the government discouraging people from telling their families back home not to try it, nor did they respond (again, that I saw) to the obvious inferences by governments and municipalities within Mexico/Central America that it was 'safe'. Word spreads unbelievably fast in that community.

Like many other things, I think we could get a lot of success by TALKING a good game against illegal immigration, even if we rarely did anything about it. Instead we have ONE party (not in the white house) talking against it, and the OTHER party not doing anything about it. This creates the impression that despite the fact that we really didn't do anything about it under Bush or Jr, that IF there were a republican in the white house... that we would, and if there were more democrats in congress, we wouldn't even be talking about it.

This is political warfare that helps political parties and politicians, but hurts the country and can even lead to deaths like this.

What we NEED is for the President (regardless of party) to talk a good game about how dangerous it is... how you need not to try it... how we aren't here to make it easy for you... EVEN IF he quietly does nothing about it.

Obama is really no different from anyone else... so I don't blame him personally... I merely point out that his party is the one pretty openly not discouraging people.

Give us your tired, poor, huddled masses... but give them to us through the FRONT door should be the message of EVERY President. If this kid had come through the front door, he wouldn't have been in the Texas desert.
