WR Andrew Flory and DB Ryan Oruche were arrested for retail fraud, with additional charges of unarmed robbery (Oruche) and possession of marijuana (Flory).

Oruche was kicked off the team, Flory is suspended indefinitely.

Brilliant!! Smoke some dope, get the munchies and head to Walmart to steal snacks. I hope Enos boots both.

At least Enos is taking appropriate action. Not like in the Kelly years.

What dumb students though. First off to do what they did given they have a free ride for a college education. But to top it off they go back into Walmart to steal some more after having been pinched earlier. Later Flory lets a police officer into his apartment with joints laid out in the open.

It's not like we haven't seen our fair share of Florida kids... "not pan out." Plenty of very fresh examples.

Same can be said for kids from any location, not just Florida.

Might have some impact on that 14 win season. Flory is a very decent receiver. I can see where that Munchie thing comes in, typical. But the version of dope they push in Pleasantville is well known for making people stupid. Not the first time, either.

That thing about going back in the store for a second load, that is so so funny.

Every group has a reputation. I just object to the wholesale denunciation of a group of kids just based on where they came from.

WMU has had both success and disappointment with kids from Florida. But that can be said of all kids in general.

Your statement reminds me of Kelly saying, "Its their culture". When it comes to minority kids and the law.

Is it possible that the talent level in Florida runs deep... and more programs take chances on suspect athletes based primarily on their physical assets? Therefore there are more "high risk" players that happen to be from Florida? I would say making a blanket statement about a particular state is just plain ridiculous. Michigan probably has just as many idiot kids who played football as seniors who just weren't good enough to make it to Div1 football... or make it to college regardless...

I completely agree flush.

We probably hear more about the Florida kids because for every 1 Michigan kid, there are 10-15, heck probably 40-50 more, from Florida playing D-1 football. So you chances of one of these kids being a knucklehead increases exponentially.

If I had to live in Mt. Dismal for an extended period of time I'd take up marijuana too.

This really is a sad a situation. I've never played football at the collegiate level, but if someone offered me a free ride to a 4-year university for playing football at the FBS level I would be so thankful...I'd be a straight-A student choir boy. I can't imagine throwing all that away over something so stupid. Blatantly stealing $500 worth of snacks and DVDs from Walmart? Like...seriously?
