NC State to play Miss State
http://www.fbschedules.com/2014/07/missi...ll-series/

The opponent makes perfect sense, but the dates do not. Both schools need a P5 opponent each year, but neither has one for 2016-19 (except the one Notre Dame game for NC State, TBD).

Quote:The [Miss. St.] Bulldogs now have power five non-conference opponents set for each season from 2020 through 2023, but still need to find one for 2016 through 2019.

I realize NC State already has Notre Dame for 2016, but gee guys, couldn't you work out 2017 and 2018?

We are playing at ND in 2017. 18 and 19 are open - West Va might be a possibility. Look for two more games with ECU to be added for the mid 20's.

We might schedule Duke if Duke is forced to drop it's games with NC Central.

The gate Nazis surrounding Carter Finley will probably confiscate all their cowbells - at best they will get 2500 tickets, so that's only 5000 cow bells to seize. 04-cheers

1) I saw that Notre Dame game on the 2017 schedule, but I wonder how firm that is... I couldn't find anything authoritative outside of FBSchedules which, in this case, is just passing on a rumor IMO. Nonetheless, maybe you have some reference to back that up?

2) Why would Duke be forced to drop NC Central - do you know something? So far the ACC has no ban on FCS opponents, and if Duke keeps just ONE, it might as well be across town.

You think they can only shake cowbells with their hands?

If it's a rumor, it's being repeated at Caravan meetings. It would appear to be a response to the LSU/Syracuse deal. As difficult as it is to imagine, State does get a break out of the ACC office about once a decade. 03-wink

ND is not going to cycle through in a particular order, they are going to be inserted in around key openings. For instance if you follow a specific rotation that would put UNC with Ohio State and ND at home in the same year - they want that spaced instead. But do I know something in writing - no. As to Duke, Duke gets a lot of criticism for NC Central because until a few years ago they were Division II. That game in particular for the future has been mentioned in this context by Cutcliff and the AD.
