Some wish they could just click their heels together 3 times and make that happen, but it just ain't that easy.

Maybe we'll get lucky and a house will fall on Karl Benson...

Then you're off to see banowsky? 03-puke

No No No...He's going to have an unfortunate accident with a bucket of water.

Actually he's protected by a bunch of green smurf's that throw flowered tortilla's at prey.

Remember, the way Chad Laborde pronounces Appalachian is not the correct way.
Remember LATCH. App-a-Latch-un.

Yeah, I listened to the whole interview. By the end, I was cringing every time he said "App-a-LAY-shun."

Love ya. Glad you are here. Sent letters trying to get you in. But the effort involved in getting me to remember to pronounce your name like that is probably wasted effort.

I don't make any effort to get fans to pronounce it correctly. However, it would be nice if a member of the media is interviewing the school's HC to pronounce the school's name correctly. That seems quite reasonable, I think.

That's Webster's Yankee edition.

Is Webster's dictionary referring to the name of Appalachian State University, or the Appalachian Mountains? The school's media guide actually shows the pronunciation as "App-uh-latch-un." I have no problem with people referring to the Appalachian Mountains as the App-uh-lay-shun Mountains. However, the school's name is not pronounced that way.

It's referring to the origin of the name, so the mountains / Apalchee native american tribe.

I personally don't care how you guys say it, I was just pointing it out. It's weird to me though that you'd want to pronounce it differently.

EDIT: But I've seen weirder here in the south too, so it's really not a big deal. I was just curious.

How do you pronounce: Apalachicola, Florida ?
You pronounce it with a LATCH in it don't you?
Same as with Appalachian State

You say po-tay-toe I saw po-tahh-toe. 03-lol App-a-latch-un just sounds better. Have a friend, APP alumnus(yeah how about that) who told me a long time ago that was how it was pronounced, told him I always said it that way(mountain range).

The most annoying thing I ever heard was a couple of years back a TV commentator kept calling us Jaw-ja Suthen. Really got on my nerves. I thought at first it was a swipe but after he said it the whole game I realized that was just the way he talked. It was bad.

Also known as Webster's Metro Atlanta edition.

I grew up in NJ and, it seems, have always pronounced it the way the U does. I assumed since there was no E, the a's were the short vowel sound.
