Have you heard about THIS prediction?
Pete Roussel, writing for 247Sports.com, predicts the first CFP football four will be Clemson, Auburn, UCLA and Florida State. What's more, he predicts Clemson will win it all...

I'd put Ohio State, Oklahoma, Baylor, and Louisville before Clemson. 07-coffee3

Clemson has to beat South Carolina for that to happen. SC under Spurrier is a mental thing for Clemson. I can see Clemson beating FSU and Georgia and not being able to score 14 points against SC with two or three open field fumbles and two dropped TD passes.

The only way Clemson may be able to beat FSU is if all the FSU starters are not able to play for that game.

They're losing Boyd and Watkins and they're still going to win the National Championship? Anything's possible but this seems awfully unlikely to me.

True. In 1984, BYU snuck in through the back door.

I would love it!

I would love it even more if that scenario allowed us to play in the Orange Bowl!04-cheers

The over/under on Clemson's season is 8 1/2. It would be an extreme over achievement for them to win every thing this year.

Although with their tough OOC schedule, they might make the playoffs with 2 losses if everything breaks right.

RE: Have you heard about THIS prediction?
This is one of those predictions you make, knowing it's the longest of long shots, because you are confident nobody is going to look back at what you predicted once the season's over. If you are wrong, as you likely will be, you just keep a low profile. If, by some wild stroke of luck, you are right, then you crow from the rooftops about how brilliant an analyst you are.

And if people are talking about you over the summer, you make your advertisers happy.

This looks like an FSU or bust year, playoff-wise.

I have Clemson in double digit wins but I do not believe they will win 14 games. I still think they have too many questions to beat FSU. And then there is that pesky USC(east) thing they have to get beyond.

RE: Have you heard about THIS prediction?
Sorry Clemson fans, but this isn't going to happen....

Their schedule + lack of experience at QB says it won't happen....1st and foremost, they have road trips at Georgia and at Florida State early on. Doesn't mean they should throw in the towel, but its going to be a harder year this year.

Last year was the year....They beat Georgia, and had FSU at home. Tajh Boyd was back....

For the Record, I've got.....

FSU
Oregon
Oklahoma
and......Texas!!

I think Texas will be the surprise team this year. Take a look at that roster and at the schedule as well....if Strong can get that team to gel, they're going to be pretty good

They'll have to get through us (or VT) to get to the playoff first!

No way BOTH Oklahoma and Texas... ONE maybe (or neither). Replace Texas with either an SEC team or Ohio State or Michigan State and you have a shot IMO.

All of these CFP predictions w/o any SEC teams are, shall we say, very unlikely?
