Interesting that Moton and Bynes joined B.C. with Wilson.

Watch out MEAC.

Junior Estelus went there last year as well.

I have had this spreadsheet since last season. Should have posted it sooner.

great info jubba. that's awesome.

quick question, does anyone know how many scholarship kids depart WMU per year on average BEFORE their eligibility expires? Without knowing, I'm guessing the number is between 5-10 every year.

I think this is coming. Not only for MAC schools, but for ALL schools at some point. That seems to be one of the items gaining steam as part of the whole Ed OBannon trial thing.

And I think I agree with it. The whole 4, 1 year scholarships thing is something that I don't think 99% of people ever realized. I know that I didn't until the last few years. If we really want these kids to be student athletes, then I think we need to commit to them for that full 4+ years. Rather than basically cutting them if a 4 star plays like a 2 star for example. Or if a player has a career ending injury as a sophomore and the team just cuts ties with him.

Seems like every year there are 1-2 for every class that bolt. Injuries, grades, whatever.

If I'm wrong with my guess, someone tell me.

Jubba? What would be your guess? I'd bet on his answer before mine. He's been keeping a spread sheet.

I always found it interesting and often wondered how that stuff worked when there would be a full recruiting class and then 3 years later you would look back and remember never having seen quite a few of those guys play. I always wondered A: what ever happened to them B: where they even at the school anymore C: did they still have scholarships or how did that work? D: was the program able to replace those scholarships on someone else since you have a limit that you can sign each year.

Under Cubit it was 3-6 a year. When new staffs come in it is usually a higher number. Some schools(coaches) have a way higher turnover rate than others. I made a list in the past, I'll see if I can find it.

I will say it is hard to measure fully because a lot of guys get hurt, but still stay attached to the program as student assistants and what not.

Nice research jubba. Interesting to see the patterns there. Looks like you nailed it EA3.
