Ya the sun for high dollar seats would not be cool. I could see some tinted glass and an overhang.

Ole miss had that issue but they added this...which I dont think would be worth it at our place for 1-2 games...and the wind would kill it too!

I really think the reasoning here is cost. To put a suite on the West side would mean you have to remove the current skybox. That is prime space for the media that would not cost us much to renovate compared to building a totally new space for them.

Moving the softball field was part of the NIU Master Plan Thesis but the baseball field was not. If you remove the baseball field that give the West lot a ton of room.

The second deck with club/premium section that ECU has gives the premium seats a fully covered outdoor seating area.

Cut and paste from ECU stadium? That actually doesn't look too bad as long as the upper deck is shorter like you have done here.

I'm also really interested in hearing what the plans are for the south endzone. More seating to enclose both sides? That's the dream! 04-rock

Agree...it also wouldn't add any crappy corner seats.

It would shade and possibly heat the outdoor club seating area...if it was actually outdoors (I hope most of it is not because of our October rain and November cold).

It would give us around 4000-4500 seats on the upper deck and 2000-2500 on/in the club/suite level...which should give us the largest MAC stadium home. (should be a goal)

Moving both baseball and softball would be the best and then you have a better area for football. Is there any talk of adding a field turf practice field where one of the ball fields are?

A transportation center for the campus with a parking lot or garage would go where the softball and east lawn is now.

If they move the baseball and softball fields they both better have field turf. So many of our home games are moved or cancled because the turf is not playable.
