Yeah, I can't wait when they start bashing coach and team for losing an exhibition game.....kind of like that scrimmage last year that they didn't even see.

So we're going to lose an scrimmage game?

I don't even know if these game rise to the level of "exhibition" do they?

He's talking about the closed scrimmage last year with Baylor. Technically these aren't exhibition games since they aren't during the season. It's the extra practice that is the real benefit.

Time clock and shot clock, referees, cheering fans, uniforms...like a real game. Carlton should be very good. Ottawa and McGill should be CBUish.

Ah. Yeah, I agree. Our exhibition games are the ones against CBU, etc. This is something less than an exhibition game, more than a scrimmage. Some sort of scrimxibition.

But I was speaking more to the preemptive defensiveness that I see some much of on this board recently. We're playing very good squads in Canada, and we may lose a game (if we do, great; it's practice), but can we reserve the defensiveness until it is at least warranted?

Its not preemptive defensiveness but rather its expecting typical responses from the usual suspects.

Seems like Syracuse did a similar trip a couple of years ago and lost bad to someone.

Syracuse lost to Lemoyne in 2009 in an exhibition game. Maybe that is what you are thinking of. Teams aren't eligible for games out of the country except once every 4 years. Syracuse went to Canada last year and had to come from behind in the 2nd half to beat Carleton.
